"NOOOOOOOOO!! JULIE!!!!" I was crying and screaming my life out. The nurse came in and said,
"Sir, you have to leave." She said.
"No! I'm not leaving her!" I said in defiance.
"But Sir, you have to-" I cut her off.
"No! I'm not leaving! She is my best friend! I- I- I loved her, I never got to say it in front of her! If she goes, I go too!! I can't live. . . Without her by my side! Julie is important to me. I REFUSE to lose some who is important to me! YOU WOULD BE HERE TOO IF ONE OF YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY ARE DYING BEFORE YOUR EYES! ESPECIALLY THE ONE YOU LOVE!!!"
I said, confessing my love for her, the nurse confused but understanding me, and everyone looking at me like I'm crazy.
"Wait. . . What's that sound?!" I asked her.
"Oh that's just the heart monitor. . . HEART MONITOR?!?!"
Everyone, including I, was shocked to see that. . . SHES ALIVE!!
"Oh my god! Julie! You're ok!!" I said, crying in relief.
She slowly started speaking. . . "I'm ok. But TJ. . ."
"Yeah?" I answered
"Was that. . . All true? You said that I'm important to you and, more importantly, loved me?" She said in surprise.
". . . You heard all of that. . .?" I said, looking guilty and exposing myself to her.
"Well. It was about time you did. . ." Julie smiled at me.
She made my heart hurt and heal at the same time. I never knew she thought of me that why. I didn't know she KNEW already!
"You're kidding me, right? Are you joking?" I said in a hesitant way.
"Really?! Why would I be playing with you?! Especially since you came all this way. Just to see me! I don't have to thank you and not listen, but I WILL thank you for this, and I want to pay you back, so I accept your request." She said.
I didn't exactly expect this ENTIRE thing to go like rom-com shoujo mangas. But I can't complain at all, because I just saved my girlfriends' life, and that all I can ask for.
"Thank you, Julie. . . I'll do everything to make you happy! I love you!!" I hugged her hand and she put her hand over mine. I guess its official.
*ring* *ring* Harmonie is Calling...
I picked up the phone and Harmonie said she has our graduation certificates with her.
"Is Julie ok?" She asked.
"See for yourself. . ." I showed her Julie from my phone.
She screams in excitement; "JULIE!!!" I can tell she is just as relieved as I was.
"Come to the hospital. We want to see you for the last time. . ." I said.
Harmonie, of course, went to see us, gave us our graduation certificates, and we both hugged Julies hands together. We were crying because we obviously thought she was going to be gone forever, but as close friends, we never leave our friends and family behind.
About 9 Months Later:
Julie is now discharged from the hospital. Maybe it's me, or did I forget about my necklace. Whatever it is, I won't need it anymore, because I have something that's worth way more than that.
