TejAng: Alone Protects Me

Chapter 8

Woman introduced herself as Rushitha, lawyer hired for Riya's custody. Angad told how she resolved issues in PIL cases recently. She is considered junior due to her experience in the field but she is also one of the highly qualified lawyer in or around Moga.

Tejo was confused at her own feelings. Ever since the woman entered the house.. Angad didn't even bother to take a sip of tea placed infront of him. He was going on and on about her accomplishments.

He was talking but she was unable to focus. All she could see was Angad being so comfortable around a woman who he met couple of days ago. He did behave like this whenever he is impressed beyond expectations. She always like his childlike enthusiasm but not today.

Tejo starting chewing her bottom lip in frustration and left the hall in confusion. She entered kitchen and started making noodles,her guilty food. He behaved in a similar way when he first met her in his office. She remembered the first time she met him. Her emotions were all over the the place due to divorce hearings. When he appreciated her work and sealed the deal she found new confidence. She believed in her capabilities and was excited to make academy a better place. 

Only thought that remained her brain was.. " What if Angad didn't check the mail and rejected the deal. How different things would have been?" She was lost in thoughts while stirring the raw noodles in boiling water aimlessly.

Angad didn't understand why Tejo left the hall suddenly, he wanted to introduce his new lawyer to her personally. He finally felt that he might have advantage in Riya's custody with new findings presented by his new lawyer. He wanted to share everything with Tejo but she was no where to be seen. Unlike the last time he wanted to invite her during the proceedings. He never said it to her but just her presence calms his nerves.

Jasmine was lost in her world. All her excitement vanished into thin air when she saw Kismat sitting beside Angad in the morning. She still couldn't forget the day she fooled him without having an ounce of guilt. He looked innocent actually naive. He helped her reach home safely thinking she was drunk and when he was dropping her off she hugged him and kissed him on cheek. The photographer clicked the pictures and submitted them to the lawyer . She joined hands with criminals to earn money in illegal way. She forgot that such activities always have consequences.

Angad got a call from his friend, Kismat and he informed everyone in the hall that, Jasmine is one among the two who is selected for internship. " Aur Jasmine tumhare liye aur bhi accha news hai ki you are going to Canada in a month or two congratulations!!!" Angad said suprising everyone in the hall. 

Sandhu family was elated to hear about their daughter's accomplishment. They never expected Jasmine could achieve something like this. Especially Rupi who has low to zero expectations from his younger daughter was overwhelming. Jasmine didn't know how to react to this news.. She was anything but happy. She was still hopeful that he didn't recognise her. 

At the kitchen:

"Arey Tejo puttar Jassu.. humari Jassu Cannede Jaa Rahi hai. Mujhe toh Vishwas hi nahi ho raha." Satti sounded happy and continued, "Angad nai Jassu ko bahut help ki hai badal ne mein."

Tejo nodded and added the spice mix to the noodles she was making. Satti started searching for containers.

"Koi Jaa Raha hai kya mummy.. kyun pack kar rahi ho?" Tejo enquired.

"Haa Angad aur uski dost Jaa rahe hai. Bahut acchi hai na woh.. Sundar aur susheel. Mujhe toh soni lagi kudi aur vun dono ki jodi bhi. " Satti was saying with a huge smile on her face."Mummy aapko pata bhi nahi phir bhi boli Jaa Rahi ho.." Tejo tried to stop her mother.
