When I Met Him

"Stop there, what are you doing?" the officer says. "I'm getting in the show!" I say. He escorts me to the front and gives me the money to go inside the right way. I ask him," What's your name?", and he says,"Jacob Ermine, now go you don't want to miss the show do you?" And with those words I smile and enter the building.

When I get in, I see people in nice dress clothes and here I am wearing jeans and a red jacket. People are astonished when they see me hang my painting up of a Chinese park and a red bridge. Everyone applauds at my art, and I win 300 dollars. When I look into the audience, I see the officer smiling and winking at me, and I blush.

When I ride home from the show, I have to go to the store to get more brushes, so it looks like I went just to the store instead of an extra stop. When I get home everyone is asleep so I take a shower, get dressed, and go to bed. When I go to bed I open my eyes and look up at the hot glued, glow up stars on the ceiling before I close them into an empty darkness.

When I awake, I find myself in a closet."Cassie!", I yell. "What do you want?", she yells back but then I realize that I'm in Cassie's closet. When I open the door I find that her room is filled with pink ribbons, pictures, and beautiful flowers. When our eyes meet Cassie screams,"Olive!" When she pops in the room I notice that she is a blond, green eyed girl who is on the verge of being adopted. Then she runs off and by then she's long gone.

Later that day, the doorbell rings and I come down the stairs to answer it. Expecting to find someone who wants to adopt another child, I see the same officer as the night of the show.I immediately slam the door in his face when I see him. I panic not knowing what to do, and I almost cry when Ms. Patterson opens the door."Hi, I'm Jacob Ermine and I'm here to adopt someone." When he says this, Ms. Patterson greets him in, goes through paperwork, and then calls me in."Sadie, I'd like you to meet your new father."This gives me a shock, I feel like I'm drowning and I'm afraid to swim up to safety. I then sit down and we start a conversation.

We talk about his large house, now I can go to school, and he can even teach me how to paint better! When we're done talking I have to pack my things which isn't much but mean a lot to me. After I pack, I get in his bright red corvette and we drive off to my new home. I don't can really care what it looks like at least as it has enough room for the love that I hope my father has for me. When we pull up to the house I can't believe my eyes!
