In the distance, soldiers could be seen by the hundreds. Warriors on horseback, horses pulling wagons and war chariots, soldiers on foot.

Disco took a deep breath and pushed herself up from her seated position on the ground.

Looking around, she saw the typical sights of a lower town camp. The injured tended to the wounded, tarp houses and bars and stray dogs.

Disco was a bit of a legend in the lower towns. She healed whenever she could, no cost, and took down enemies left and right. She was their secret weapon. She had a lot of weapons. Unfortunately, she had more secrets than weapons.

Her largest secret was that she was actually Princess Luna from the Outlands. The Outlands were ruled by King Nepheus and Queen Lyria. When Queen Lyria died giving birth to her first child, King Nephus blamed the small girl and refused to even acknowledge her existence. She was treated as nothing more than a commoner servant, and never knew love or affection.

At the age of five she ran away from the castle, hiding out in the less moderated areas of town. At the age of seven she began her first formal training with a retired soldier. At the age of 10 she escaped her fathers cruel country and fled to Minecraftia. At the age of 11 she entered fighting matches and built up a reputation as "Wolf" of the lowlands of Minecraftia.

She was well known. Her name alone was enough to get her into pretty much any high stakes competition around. At the age of twelve, she joined the Royal Guard under the lie of being sixteen, and held the apprenticeship for the full year.

She was now 16, but kept her age secret and separate from all her identities, which wasn't that hard to do with her outstanding height of 6'1. She kept her skills sharp by training on the practice grounds of the lowlands. She participated in smaller competitions, intentionally fading from the spotlight, keeping her royal identity, soldier identity, and fighter identity separate.

Which wasn't that hard to do. As she had D.I.D. (Dissociative Identity Disorder) as an unfortunate side effect of having nothing but an abusive parent and a lonely childhood. Her system was formally referred to as The Lunar System (matching with her childhood best friend who was The Solar System) or informally referred to as The Disks. Disco was the closest she could get to her system name, so that was what she went with for most singular identities.

Her system was made up of fourteen or so alters and fragments. They were all female, so their pronouns were she/they.

Disco was sort of a combination of all of the alters, using wolf's soldier instincts, Luna's selective mutism, bee's love for animals, Mellohis chaos, and cats love for all things artistic.

Wolf was the main alter/ gatekeeper of the system, meaning she ran things. She was the most often out because she was both the fighter and the soldier identities put together. She was cool, calm, collected, and somewhat distant and cold. It took her awhile to warm up to people, preferring instead to be shadowy and mysterious, lurking just out of sight rather than socializing. She was a thinker, and very philosophical.

Luna, or Princess Luna, was a more calm, soft spoken girl. She loved kids, cooking, and had a particular interest in neurodiversity. She had quite severe social anxiety, causing her to be a bit of a selective mute. In the headspace, Luna is Bee's caretaker, referred to as "Mommy" by the younger.

Bee was the youngest alter, stuck at six years old. She's autistic, dyslexic, and a selective mute. She really likes animals, and everyone in the system is extremely protective of her, so she hardly ever gets to front. She is only allowed out in 100% safe situations, and they have only been safe a collective of one hour throughout their entire life.

Mellohi was the most chaotic of them all. She was loud, hyper, and had extreme ADHD, and it showed. She was a child of no balance. She was either constantly moving and speaking or sitting still and zoning out silently. She loved writing music and hanging out with her sister Cat in the headspace.

Cat was a sassy, dramatic girl. She was very passionate, loved debating, music, art, and literature. Her favorite quotes are from Sun Tzu's "The Art Of War". She wrote books and songs for her battles, her friends, and her family. She was the most expressive of the system, but did not front often, instead preferring for Mellohi or Wolf to voice her opinions for her.

Today was a big day for all of them. Today was the day they applied for the royal guard. And not just any position in the royal guard. The position of personal guard, for a Prince of Minecraftia.
