Shauna stood in the front of the choir with her mother, sunglasses perched on her face, singing for the church.

As I look back on my life,

And see where I come from,

I wonder if I'm,

Ever gonna see the tables turn,

'Cause I've been way too low,

For way too long,

But I know somehow,

Some way...

My change gon' come

Her mother looked  at her, signalling for her to emerge from the stand and join her.

I was down,

Far from the shore,

I was weak in my soul,

The choir stood. One day,

Facing trouble,

Tears on the floor,

I was tired and worn,

One day,

Couldn't find no peace,

Down on my knees,

I was lost in a storm,

One day

But I knew the Lord heard my cry,

So one day,

I won't worry no more,

One day,

'Cause just when I was about to give up,

I heard Jesus say,

Jesus said, change gon' come one day,

Shauna noticed four people walk into the church from the corner of her eye. She couldn't really get a good look at them since she had to keep her eyes forward, or else she would get an earful from her mother and Sister Jenkins.

Streets wasn't safe,

Couldn't find my way,

But I found His grace one day,

Tears down my face,

Jesus said, Jesus said,

Change gon' come one day,

One day, yeah,

I knew it would happen for me...
