1 - Newbie

(Your POV)
You wake up to the sound of your alarm waking you up abruptly.
'Ugh I have to get up now'
You get up groggily and walk downstairs to your brother Evan sitting at the dining table.
"Evan why are you up? Your not doing school in real life are you? I thought you had virtual school this year." You said confused.
"Mom said I had to get up as early as you to make it fair." He said before stuffing his face with a pancake.
You walk to the chair next to him and sit down and began to eat the plate with freshly cooked pancakes on it. When you finish you walk upstairs to your room and put on a army green T-shirt with black ripped jeans. You look outside and see your bus in front of your house. You ran downstairs.
"Bye Evan! Bye Mom!" You called. You didn't bother to call for your dad. He was probably out of town again.
'My first day in a real school. No more homeschool.' You thought nervously
On the bus you sat next to this girl with short black hair and a red hoodie.
"Your new to our school right?" She asked
"Yeah. I have been homeschooled my whole life until now." You chuckled.
"I'm Meillin, but you can call me Mei. Wanna be friends?"
"Sure! I gotta start somewhere." You replied and you both smiled
"Oh this is our stop. Come on oh- also what did you say your name was again?" Mei asked
"Y/N." You replied.
You walk in the door and Mei yelled "Miriam!"
"Mei! I missed you so much!!" A girl with red-ish hair and a mainly green outfit called back. Miriam butt-bumped Mei and Mei introduced me to Miraiam.
"Oh! Miriam, this is y/n can she be part of our squad? She's new!" Mei said excitedly.
"Yeah she sounds cool. Hey y/n I'm Miriam." She reaches out her hand for me to shake and I returned the gesture.
We all walked for about 20 more seconds before Miriam caught somebodies attention.
"Priya!" She yelled to this girl with a yellow collared long sleeved shirt and khaki pants and mid-length fluffy hair. She held a book over her lower half of her face before calling back.
"Yo." She walked over and did a little hand shake with Mei before asking her..
"Who's this?" She pointed to me.
"That's y/n! She's new and a part of our squad now." Miriam replied happily.
'Dang it must be hard to make friends around here. Why are they so happy for just one more friend?'
"Sick" Priya said with a grin.
I turned around to see this long haired girl. She had long black hair with bangs, a pink headband, and pink overalls yelling at a group of people in a foreign language.
"Hey Abby!" Mei called.
Abi turned around "What's up Mei!" She held up a piece sign to her face and walked over. Priya introduced me to her and Abi gave me a angry face.
'Does she not like me?'
"Relax y/n I'm just joking with you." She smiled and hit me on the shoulder a little.
We all walked over to Meis locker and started talking about the school before we got interrupted.
"Hey losers!" Some boy said walking over to us. "Ooh who's this? Is she a new dork who joined the club?"
"Buzz off Tyler! This is y/n and she is very nice, and not a dork at all!" Abby defended.
"If you say so. Smell ya later!" He ran off
"Don't mind him. He is just looking for attention." Mei commented.
"Yea." Miriam agreed.
"Anyways guys. Who's class does everyone have first?" Priya asked.
"I have Language Arts." I scoffed.
"Me too!" Miriam replied happily.
"I have Math." Abby said sadly.
"I have art first. I heard that art teacher for this year is nice." Mei added.
*bell rings lol*
"Oh we gotta get going to class." Priya said.
"Yeah. Come on y/n." Miriam said to me.
When we get to Language arts we see him walk in.
"Ohh hey dorkface. And the little newbie." He commented. I scoffed. Me and Miriam sat down in the back and then the teacher stopped us.
"Sorry folks we actually have assigned seats in this class."
"Ugh come on Miss Burnes really?" Tyler asked.
"Yes really, Tyler."
*tiny time skip*
"Okay in the third row we have Miriam, Nicolas, Jayla, Y/N, and Tyler." Miss Burnes said.
'This class is going to be a living nightmare.'
"Heyyyo newbieee!" Tyler said before plopping down in his seat next to you.
"Hey Tyler." You scoffed.
"Okay class open up to page 3, we are reading chapter one of this book today." The whole class groaned at Miss Burnes demand.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd period went by fairly quickly. I had PE with all of the girls for 3rd period, then we had lunch.
"Hey girls!" Mei called walking over to their usually table outside under the umbrella.
"Hey y/n. Here's my number. I will text you the girls numbers for when we hang out. We can start a group chat!" Miriam said. After exchanging numbers we all sat and talked after we finished eating until 5th period bell rang. The rest of the day went by very quick. Since it was only the first day, we didn't do much work. Me and Mei walked to the bus together since we ride the bus, while the other girls walk. We sat by each other, but my stop was before hers.
"Bye Mei." I said before walking off.
"Thank you." I said to the bus driver. I walked home and I sat my backpack down, changed into a comfier outfit, and flopped onto my bed and texted Miriam.

You: "Hey"
Miriam: "Hey is this y/n?"
You: "The one and only 😉"
Miriam: "Lol nice"
You: "Wanna hang out with the girls after school tomorrow?"
Miriam: "Yea lemme add you to our gc so we can work it out."
You: "Alright"

You and the girls made a plan to all ride the bus back to your house tomorrow and walk to the clothes store to get some n new swimsuits so that y'all can go to the beach this weekend.
"Goodnight Mom! Goodnight Evan!" You called from your room, telling them that you were going to bed.
