2- Beach

Your POV
It was Tuesday after school. You and the girls all hop off of the bus at your stop.
"Okay girls. The mall is fairly close, but you guys still have your phones right? Just in case we get lost?" Mei asked.
"You know it!" Abby said
"Me too." Priya added.
"Mhm" me and Miriam answered.
While you guys were walking y'all were talking about when you guys are going to the beach.
"Soo..Beach this Friday right?" I asked.
"Yep!" Mei agreed.
"Cool." You said.
It was kind of awkward silence until the mall came jinto view.
"There it is!" Abby shouted while bouncing up and down.
"Do you guys wanna grab some food in the food court before we go shopping?" Priya asked.
"I do! I'm starving." Mei added.
"Okay lets do it then!" I said.
*You guys walk in.*
"Okay Priya can you go grab us a table while we all get in line for our food? I will order for you if your not with us by the time it's our turn to order." Mei asked.
"Yea sure. Everyone hand me your purses to save seats." Priya said.
*you guys walk to the line for food."
"What's everybody getting?" Miriam asked.
"Me and Mei are splitting chicken nuggets." Abby chuckled.
"I'm getting nachos." Miriam added. What about you y/n?"
"I'm just getting an order of fries." You told them.
*after you guys eat you go to the clothing store.*
"Oh my gawd this is so cute!" You gawked over a high waisted 2 piece bathing suit with a white floral top and deep green bottoms.
"Oh my goodness girls what do y'all think of this?" Miriam called over for us to look at a swimsuit with a black top and plaid green bottoms that matched her sweatshirt that she always wore.
"I love both of your choices guys! You should put those in the cart!" Mei said.
"You don't have to tell me twice." You say before putting the swimsuit in the shopping cart. Miriam did the same.
"I think I found the one!" Abby said holding up a lavender swimsuit with purple lines along the sides.
"That one really fits your personality, Abby." Miriam commented.
"Agreed." Mei said "Also girls, what do you guys think of this one?" She had picked up a deep red swimsuit with black and purple embroidery along the front.
"Ooh I love that Mei! Get that one!" You squealed.
"I'll put it in the cart." Mei agreed
*you guys check out and walk home, going different directions to go to each of your own houses.*
You wake up to your alarm and get excited when you remember that it is Friday
'Beach Day!!'
You get dressed and walk downstairs and shove a piece of toast in your mouth before walking outside to the bus to sit in your usual spot, by Mei.
"Hey Y/N." Mei said tiredly.
"Hey Mei. We still up for the beach after school?" You asked.
"I am. We just have to re assure with the other girls." Mei stated.
*at lunch*
"Hey girls, were all still on for the beach tonight right?" You asked again
"Yeah me and Priya are riding together." Mei said
"Mhm. I'm riding with my mom." Abby added.
"Okay cool. Hey y/n wanna ride with me?" Miriam asked me.
"Of course just lemme text my mom real quick and ask her." You said.
"Dang she answered quick! She yes Miriam." You said excitedly.
"Yes!" Miriam exclaimed.
You guys all walk to get home except for you and Mei of course, you go to the bus like normal.
'The first week went by so fast. Other than the classes I have with Tyler. Those classes went so dang slow.'
"Mei? Meet at the beach at 3:30 right?"
"Yep!"
"Oh this is my stop. See you in a little bit!" You called to Mei.
"Thank you" You said to the bus driver once again.
Once you get home you grabs a little insulated tote bag and put a towel in there, along with some snacks and drinks. You go downstairs and watch TV for about 20 minutes before you get a text from Miriam.
"Hey I'm on my way to your house, is that okay or should I wait a little longer?" She texted.
"You can come now. Don't wanna make the girls wait lol" You responded.
You quickly run upstairs and put your swimsuit that you bought on Tuesday and you throw a short little comfy dress as a cover up. Then you get hear a knock on the front door.
"Y/N ARE YOU EXPECTING SOMEONE??" You heard your brother Evan yell from downstairs.
"YEAH HOLD ON IM COMING TO GET IT!" You yelled back.
You slipped your sandals on and run downstairs with your bag and open up the door to see Miriam in her new swimsuit.
"Hey girl" She says before hugging you. "Ready to go?"
"Yep!" You said.
"Okay lets go then!" She said excitedly.
*on the way to the beach.*
"Hey Mir?" You asked.
"Yea?"
"Has Tyler always been how he is now?" You wondered.
"Not always." Her face got serious. "When middle school started he started dressing differently and acting way more rude like he is now.
"Oh. I wonder why" you said
"Nobody knows exactly why." Miriam said. "Oh we're here!" Her face lit up again.
Miriam's mom pulled to a stop and unlocked the doors. We grabbed our things and walked to the other girls who were already out at the water.
"Hey girls." Miriam said.
"Hey Mir!" Mei called.
"Before you guys set your stuff down, do y'all want to go a little more towards the pier for late so we can watch the sun set. It should set in like 2 hours." Priya said
"YESS!" Abby screamed.
"Okay we can." You chuckled.
After we sat our stuff down by the pier, I hopped in the water for a few minutes to cool down before going to tan a bit before the sun set. You must have fallen asleep, because when our opened your eyes all of the girls were sitting on the edge of the pier with their legs dangling off the edge watching the sun set. You went to join them and decided to bring a family size bag of chips for you all to share. You bring your towel to sit on and you sit next to Miriam since you are closest with her and hand her the chips to share with the girls."
"Oop good morning y/n." Miriam snickered.
"Hey Mir." You replied
"Thanks for the chips." She said before passing the bag to Abby.
"No biggie. Looks like I made it just in time for the sunset." You looked up at the horizon.
"Sure did." Mei added.
The sunset lasted for about 10 minutes. After that you guys packed up your things and wait for Miriam's mom to pick you and Mir up. Abby, Priya, and Mei already left.
"Ugh Mom come on." Miriam said. Then she got a text message..
'Hey sweetheart. I'm so sorry but m car broke down and your fathers isn't home. Is there any way you could ask y/n to maybe stay the night with her and walk to her house together so you guys are safe?'
'Oh I can I guess. Love you Mom.'
'Love you to sweetheart.'
"Hey y/n?" She asked slightly sheepishly.
"Yea Mir?" You replied.
"Is there any way we could walk to your house and I could stay the night? My moms car broke down and my dad is not home to come get us."
"Yeah of course. My mom won't care anyways. Lemme pull up the directions to my house real quick."
"Okay. Thank you so much."
"It's no problem."
You guys were walking on the side of the road, using a flashlight you found in the bottom of your bag then you see headlights behind you too. The car is moving suspiciously slow behind you two so you speed up.
"Y/N I think that person is following us." Miriam said in a panic.
"Don't worry just listen okay? We start walking faster to the point where we are running. Then, we turn around and run around that corner behind us and hide there behind the bushes until they drive away. Okay?" You said affirmingly.
"Okay." She replied in a shaky voice.
You quickly pick up the pace of your walking until your running, and the car speeds up too.
"Ready?" You asked.
"Yea" she replied
"Now!"
You turn the flashlight off and run as fast as you can to the corner then you realize Miriam isn't beside you. You look behind you and see her laying flat on the pavement. She fell. You ran back to her picked her up under her shoulder, and both of you ran as fast as you could until you were successfully hidden behind the bushes at the corner.
"Miriam are you okay?" You whispered.
She did not answer you just saw her silhouette shaking in the darkness and heard her crying.
"Where are you hurt?" You asked worriedly. You've never seen her cry before.
"M-my wrist and my f-face a-and knees." She spoke between heavy breaths of crying.
"Okay. We only have about 2 minutes of walking left Mir. Are you gonna be okay to walk that far? I can support you with your arm over my shoulder if you want."
"O-Okay." She gulped. "But did the car leave?"
"Yes I watched it drive away." You assured.
"Alright. Let's go." She said, her voice still shaking.
You both stood up and she put her arm over your shoulder while you guys walked home. When you finally made it home, your brother let you guys in. Your mom was on the couch watching TV.
"Hey y/n." He said "Who is this?"
"This is Miriam. Watch out." You pushed by him. Miriam's arm still over your shoulder.
"Mom?" You asked. "This is Miriam. She doesn't have any way to get home tonight, can she please stay with us?"
"Sure dear." She answered.
"Okay Mir, come on let's get you cleaned up.
*you walk upstairs with her.*
"Here you go." You handed her some pajamas and a towel. "You wash off while I get us some real dinner Okay? Come downstairs when your finished and we can clean your cuts and get you some ice."
"Thank you y/n. This means so much." Miriam said.
"Like I said, no problem, I love hanging with you." You smiled and so did she before walking in to your bathroom.
You go downstairs and cook you guys some grilled cheeses. And set them on the dining room table. Then you grab a box of bandaids, some ointment and peroxide for Miriam. You will get the ice when she comes down so it doesn't become room temperature. Then Miriam walked in.
"Oh hey Mir. Feeling any better?" You asked her.
"Not really. I fell pretty hard." She said.
"Yeah. Come sit lemme clean you up." You told her.
She did as you said and then you saw her face in actual light.
"Holy crap Miriam I didn't see how bad your face is! You have bruises and cuts everywhere!" You shouted .
"Mhm" she agreed.
You cleaned up her cuts and bandaged them. You guys are the grilled cheeses. Then, you gave her some ice for her wrist and you guys went upstairs to your room.
"Your okay with sleeping in the same bed right? It is queen sized." You said.
"If that's okay with you." Miriam stated.
You guys lay down and Miriam fell asleep very quickly. When you saw her sleeping you ran to take a quick shower since you haven't washed since the beach. You come back and scooch in your bed and fall asleep soon after.
