" At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, or a parent. " ― Barbara Bush

Xavier's POV

Movement. An elbow in my ribs.

"Xavier, wake up" comes Sarah's voice. I opened my eyes.

"Are you ok?" her voice had a tint of worry in it.

"Yes, we have to go to Mark. His soul is going to dissipate"

"My brother? How do you know this?" I lifted my body from the bed and followed Sarah in the bathroom. Well, I tried. She closed the bathroom door in my face. She needed her privacy.

"Max talked to me. And asked for my help" come her answer through the closed door.

"But you are not in the mind link of the pack, yet. How ?" this reminded me I had to prepare the ceremony for the Luna.

"How I could communicate with the wolf spirit? Simple, my spiritual powers allow me to communicate with them.

We finished our morning routines quickly. After, a short ride in the car we arrived at the pavilion where my brother was. Luca was moving in my head, almost wanted to take the lead.

I don't know how, but James was there. We just acknowledged our presence and continued to walk through the doors to get to my brother. I felt my heart beating faster. Maybe, this will work and I will be able to see my brother again.

Usually, my brother would hide. I opened my mouth to tell Sarah I will change in wolf form and search for him. Suddenly, I felt a calming sensation.

This is so peaceful. Luca said while stopping his movements.

Max comes in front of Sarah. She puts her hands on his head while maintaining eyes contact with him.

After she healed Max, I let my parents stay with him. I will come and spend time with him when he needs me.

Throughout our journey back to the house pack, Sarah was silent. Only James spoke to me. At first, I thought she was tired, but her eyes had a sad look. So I asked what was in her mind?

"My hands can heal. My hands can kill. " her voice was low, and the word kill I almost couldn't hear it.

"After my first successful hunt, I had thoughts like "I am a killer now". For a few weeks, a couldn't hunt anymore.

The puma saved me, but he never gave me food. He was a jerk." Her voice gained a bit of life.

"Sometimes he would abandon me in the woods.

And let me tell you a secret." She made eye contact with me and her mouth was in a playful smile

" I don't have the ability for spatial orientation. I got lost. Again and again. I lost count of how many times I slept outside, in the dark and cold.

Now I love sleeping outside. It is so refreshing and full of energy."

"So why are you upset?" I could feel she didn't accept the fact she had to kill to survive. It was a common thought to all my pack members when they started to participate in hunting or fighting.

................after a few hours....................

Sarah's POV ( I am coming back.)

I came to the shelter with children and pregnant women. A room without windows, made of reinforced concrete. I look around and I see the children playing with the toys on the table in the middle of the room. My heart stings. Xavier has so little confidence in my abilities.

"Queen King stay here and protect them!" I say to the two magical beasts, they answer me by moving their head up and down.

I open the door and run. I have a mission. Lava cake is waiting for me, no one is sitting between me and it. Not even my mate. Ahh, it's already raining in my mouth.

It is quiet outside. I run in the direction I left the pack. Slowly I hear the sounds of a fight. I slip through a wolf biting the shoulder of a person with red eyes and sharp teeth. A vampire. So they are the enemies today.

Nobody cares about me, everyone is busy with their fights. I make eye contact with the lave cake that sits alone on the table under an old oak tree.

I step aside so that a wolf with a copper coat doesn't hit me, he gets up quickly and attacks a vampire with chocolate-colored hair without looking at me.

I slip through wolves and vampires. I have one more step and the lava cake is mine.

Suddenly I hear the table shatter, I see the pieces flying in the air, but it doesn't matter, what matters is them, the little chocolate goodies.

I step on the vampire in the middle of the table and manage to catch one lave cake in each hand. In the air, I bring the one in my left hand and bite it softly, securing it in my mouth and I catch another one in my free hand.

I land with a cake in my mouth and two more in each hand. Well done Sarah, you did it. I forcefully let out the air I held captive in my lungs through my nose.

With the little finger of my left hand, I push the lava cake completely into my hungry mouth.

I let out a moan of pleasure when I feel the softness of chocolate in the middle of the cake. Ah, how I struggled to get you. I raise my eyes and thank the divinity for this opportunity.

I'm starting to chew with difficulty. Maybe it was too big for my mouth. It doesn't matter.

I realize I don't hear any sound anymore. The fight is over. And all eyes are on me. I hear a laugh in the distance.

"Sarah, I told you to go to the shelter," Xavier tells me in a loud octave.

I lower my eyes in the direction his voice is coming from, I look into his eyes, shake my head up and down, and continue to devour the cake that occupies my oral cavity. Ah, I achieved nirvana. He can scream as much as he wants.

"It seems that your dream has finally come true."I hear a familiar voice, it continues in a tone that radiates amusement, "you won't torment with the imaginary lava cake anyone again. I hope."

I see the red eyes, the black hair, and the lips of my old friend, we stayed together for some time in the forest of magical beasts after I saved him from a tiger beast. The first and only vampire I've ever met.

I open my mouth to answer and the last piece of lava cake enters my airway path. A strong cough engulfs my whole body. I see the last piece on the ground and I feel a heat wave reaching the top of my head. Also,  the hair there is rising.

"Fuck you, Dracula, that was the tastiest part," I say in a voice that makes the few birds that were staying in the oak, fly.

I hear some sounds of amazement and I see a mass of vampires behind him who look at me with eyes full of readiness and I see their sharp teeth inside their opened mouths.

I'm starting to head for Dracula, who is a meter away from Xavier. Xavier looks at me strangely, not understanding what is happening.

"Sarah, you have two more," Dracula tells me, pointing to my two hands.

"Lava cake is never enough" I answer quickly and firmly.
