She runs, as fast as she can. A bright smile spread across her lips as she giggles, like that of a child.
She turns and looks to the boy following her, he too has the childlike smile on his face.
His eyes are full of youth and exhilaration as he looks at the gorgeous girl ahead of him. He admires her in her lavender dress.
How it sits on her shoulders lightly, how it accentuates her tiny waist, how it flows beautifully as she runs from him.
He loved her, as she loved him.
But those feelings had yet to be aired. They just share long hugs, longing stare's, and happy laughter instead.
They are young and naïve, looking past the obvious truth.
The sun is warm and bright, the sky blue and calming. The two run through a large and empty field. The grass around them green and lush, swaying with the summer breeze.
A large oak tree sits atop a hill, with a swing and low hanging branches. The tree is many years old but still stands strong.
The girl runs to the tree hiding behind it for cover as if the boy didn't just see her run there.
A devious smirk grows on the boys face as he runs after her.
He doesn't go right after her, he hides on the other side mischievously; making the girl curious as to what is taking him so long.
She peaks her head from behind the large oak tree, curious as to why the boy hasn't come to find her.
She sighs with disappointment, thinking he left to do other things. Till two strong arms wrap around her waist lifting her into the air.
She laughs knowing exactly who the arms belong to.
He spins around with her in his grasp.
She laughs a laugh as soft and as sweet as honey. He loved listening to her laugh, he could never get tired of it.
The boy becomes dizzy from spinning and falls to the base of the tree with the girl still in his grasp. He falls straight on his butt, whereas the girl lands on top of him.
They exchange a long awkward pause then the girl scrambles to get up.
She takes a seat at the base of the larger oak tree, her back molding to it nicely.
The boy takes a seat next to her silently.
No words are exchanged just silence.
Instead of words being spoken nature speaks. A breeze blowing across the two's faces, the leaves rustling as well.
The girl lays her head on the boys shoulder, taking in the moment. Afraid of ruining it with her words of truth.
I love you....She thought.
I love you....He thought.
Neither bold enough to share a single word.
