The Silent Killer

The last two days were amazing. I was with Aspen at night in secret while in the day I was training.

I had never felt so happy, so complete. Seb also wrote letters daily, faking them to be from Leo Maggisbury, Lei's brother.

I loved this lifestyle. But I knew it was never going to last, never meant to last. If I didn't win the next challenge, I would never be able to stay with Aspen and even if I did. He had to get married someday to an honorable lady to secure an Heir.

I could never be that girl. Ever. I couldn't even have kids, which was something that was hard for me to admit, I still had to suffer through periods though. I could never make an heir for him which automatically meant that he and I will never be each other's end goal.

I felt bored with no one to entertain me. Kai and Aspen weren't available whereas my friends were nowhere to be seen.

I wanted to spy on some folks, not because it was my job to, but because I had nothing else to do.

I climbed onto the ceiling and entered my beloved vents. This was harder to do in a gown that I thought.

If you had told me two months ago that I would be wearing these clothes, being in a royal castle and ever being this close to the Heir, I would have called you crazy, because this is exactly what this is. Crazy.

Before I knew it, I was crawling my way around this maze. While going around, something didn't seem quite right but I couldn't put my finger on it.

I looked around me and realised that the vents surrounding were made of grey brick whereas one end of the vent was a beige colored one. I used to think that it was just another dead end but now I was intrigued. I went closer to inspect it and as I put pressure on it, the smooth brick slid. A room was underneath.

The suspense of who was downstairs was killing me. I didn't even take a second before I was inside the room. The warm glow of it enveloped me and the cozy feel made me feel secure.

All kinds of tea and such were brewing and the room was practically clean other than the queen sized bed that wasn't made.

Someone behind me coughed, making it known that I wasn't alone. The high pitched feminine voice wasn't what I expected to hear.

I turned around to see a little girl. Her piercing hazel eyes were thick with lashes and her small button nose red from a cold. Was this why she had so much tea?

She was tiny in size, even smaller than Cami and seemed to be a little child. Her bronze skin glowed in the unnatural lighting. She came closer, making me admire her delicate facial features and hair.

Her hair was voluminous, luminous and untamed. The kind which takes up hours to make it look that perfect in the morning. She saw me looking at her and put her hand in the caramel and auburn hair.

She came even closer to inspect me but then went to the side. Her breasts were on the smaller side but her butt was pretty generous. What was I doing? Checking a child out?

"I am fourteen; not a child." The girl explained, I was still starstruck at the beauty in front of me. Her voice was quiet and high pitched, like a vase afraid of being broken. Scared, but her facial expression showed confidence in the way she looked, seducing me. I was straight, right?

I was still staring as she went to the mirror, applying red lipstick to her cupid's bow lips. She changed out of the tight brown dress with green accent and into a bright red one. As she changed I could see the black lingerie, she wasn't even timid. Sadly, her eyes showed me a scared little girl, wanting to break free.
