I was trying to get to her house as fast as possible. I have always had sixth sense. And now everything screamed that it is dangerous to show up at home.

However, I wanted to make sure that my family is safe. I silently jumped over the fence and crept into the house without anyone noticing. I was about to open the door to my room, but I heard my mother crying and swearing that she doesn't know where I am. Someone was threatening my family. I couldn't stay still. I almost touched the door, when someone grabbed my wrist and took into another room quickly.

Why are you here? My brother Eric whispered angrily. Akina, you should run! Everyone is looking for you.

What? Where should I go? Who are these people and what do they want with our mother? I looked at him in disbelief.

You are on your own now. The guards arrived just before you. I am risking a lot by just helping you to hide now. You can never come back. Get to the boarder of Ellesmere and Eyelyyn and never ever come back. Ellesmere will never admit to another kingdom that they let the Anti-mage run away.

Akina! He shook me.

Yes? I flinched.

Try to hide during the day and travel at night, Eric continued. Try not to die - this will break our mother's heart.

I was still shocked with so many questions clouding my mind.

How will I get there? Going by foot will take me at least three nights. They will be looking for me everywhere, I said.

You have always been the best in hide and seek when we were little, Eric said hugging me.

He then whispered a spell and closed his eyes.

Both of the guards are still in your room, he said. We have a chance now, he took my hand and we made it to the backdoor.

Suddenly, the witch and two more guards entered the hall. She saw us.

Without a second of doubt, she cast a fire spell on both of us. I closed my eyes hoping that the end will be fast. But once the fire touched my skin, it disappeared without a trace. I felt nothing.

Confused, I looked at my brother and felt warm tears streaming down my face. He was lying dead.

I started running as fast as possible. The witch and the guards were after me and they wanted me dead.

I promise, Eric, I will survive, I whispered entering the forest, knowing that they won't be following me here at night. That forest could be deadlier than all the guards and mages in the world, but I had no choice.
