▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ELORA LOCKWOOD WAS A GREAT FRIEND. She was always smiling, she was always supportive, she was always there, except when she wasn't. And the night that Scott and Stiles deemed it a good idea to sneak out into the woods in search of a dead body at the late hours of midnight, she wasn't there.
Scott didn't even bother going to ask her. He knew where she was. The blind in his room was open long enough for him to watch as she dropped on the bed of Dean Route through the window opposite his own. He didn't look for much longer before he yanked it closed, helplessly trying to ignore the anger he felt.
It was the same thing everyday, he'd watch as she'd climb out of Deans mustang, he'd watch as he'd be a gentleman and open the door for her, he'd watch as he'd take her hand in his on the way up the steps and he'd watch as she smiled at what he said.
Then Stiles would stand beside him and watched as his best friends heart broke a little more each time he saw them together, he'd watch as his other best friend was oblivious to how she was hurting him, he'd watch with disappointment that they weren't the ones together.
The couple would be joined by Lydia and Jackson as they entered school, the two couples forming the 'it' group. Lydia didn't like Dean, Dean didn't like Lydia. Elora didn't like Jackson, Jackson didn't like Elora. It made no sense that they were friends, other than for popularity reasons. But that made no sense to Scott and Stiles who knew that their blonde friend had no care for popularity. The quadrats relationship was purely based on Elora and Lydia's close friendship and that close friendship alone.
And even though they had been friends for years, they still hadn't told the girl about Scott's run in, in the woods. But the first time they had seen the girl all day was first period maths, when they watched as Dean kissed his girlfriend goodbye before leaving as she walked into the classroom, taking a seat on the fourth row.
Scott walked in first with Stiles following, the brown eyed boy locked eyes with the blonde, instantly brightening his day like her blonde hair was the sun. His sun, except she wasn't really his. She smiled back with a look of genuine joy which warmed his heart as he she nodded toward her left for him to take a seat beside her while Stiles took the one behind him.
Said puppy dog boy grinned dorkily as he took his seat beside the blonde, reaching into his black backpack to pull out a pen while Stiles dropped down behind him, smirking discreetly at the boy. "As you all know, there was a body found in the woods last night." Elora didn't know this, she wasn't sure whether Scott and Stiles did until she watched the pair sink further into their seats.
"And I am sure your eager little minds are coming up with various macabre scenarios for what happened. But I am here to tell you that the police has a suspect." Her suspicion was even further confirmed when she watched Scott looks at Stiles again, who shrugged in response, the pair avoiding eye contact with the blonde who's eyes were narrowed at the them. She couldn't fathom why neither had mentioned it—it was almost as if they were hiding it from her on purpose.
"Which means, you can give your all attention to the program on your desk." The teacher resolved, a wave of groans and grunts echoing around the room—following the response. Elora grumbled as she threw her head back flipping open the first page of the pamphlet. She turned to the boy beside her to express disgruntlement but saw that his attention was else where almost like he was trying really hard to hear something.
She looked towards the teacher first, to check he wasn't looking before she reached over slightly and pressed his arm. "Hey, Scotty." She whispered as the boy turned to the girl with his mouth slightly agape. "Are you good?" She asked with a breathy laugh.
