Sarah's Pov

"What do you mean he's dead?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Somebody was lying to me, there's no way this has happened. Not to my Luke. He couldn't do this, no, he wouldn't do this, not to me, not his family.

"I'm so sorry Sarah," Calum whispered, his voice hoarse, "Liz called me this morning and told that I should tell you because she couldn't." I could hear him crying.

"No, it can't be true." This was all some prank they were playing on me, my boyfriend wasn't dead, I was with him all last night and on the phone to him until two in the morning. He's fine. "You're messing with me. I'm not falling for it"

"Oh Sarah," he hiccupped, sympathy evident in his voice, "I wish I was. I really did."

"Stop it," I whispered, "stop lying to me."

"Sarah-" I cut him off.

"I said stop it!" I screamed. "It's not funny. Luke's fine, I know he is. I was with him yesterday, he's not dead, it's not possible. I'm going to call him now and prove it to you."

"No, Sarah, do-" I hung up on him and went to my contacts and clicked on Luke. They couldn't pull the wool over my eyes on this one I thought as I clicked the call button. Luke would pick up and laugh and I'd tell him that I knew it wasn't true and everything would be fine. It reached twenty seconds and he still hadn't answered, but that didn't prove anything, he might be ignoring me on purpose to make me believe it all. I'm not stupid, I know exactly what they were up to. I'll just go to his house, he only lives ten minutes away. God, they are so stupid. I quickly put on my shoes and ran down the stairs.

"I'm just going to Luke's mum, I'll be back soon." I smiled, walking over to her. My expression fell as my mum turned to face me, her eyes bright red and puffy, tears staining her cheeks. I froze.

"Oh honey, didn't Calum call you?" She asked, her tone of voice very similar to Cal's. I could feel my heart beating faster than ever before.

"Ye-ah, but it-it was a joke, wasn-wasn't it?" I asked, not being able to stop the stuttering. She just stared at me, her eyes filling up. "Tell me it was a joke mum." I repeated loudly as she flinched, but remained quiet. I was starting to get scared. "Mum, tell me it was a-" she cut me off by pulling into a hug, but I stayed frozen in place, unable to lift my arms up.

"Liz called me before, told me that Calum was going to tell you because of how close you are, she couldn't face telling you herself." She cried, pulling me in tighter. "I'm so sorry honey." She whispered into my hair.

"No." I choked, pushing her away from me. "He's not dead, I was with him yesterday. I was on the phone to him until two in the morning for fucks sake, he's not dead!" I yelled, clenching both my fists into a ball.

"Sarah, honey." She started, but paused, not knowing what to say to me. I grabbed my jacket and walked towards the door. "Where are you going?"

"Where do you think?" I asked, growling at her. "I'm going to Luke's."

"Sarah, that's not a good idea." She went to reach out for me, but I ran out the door and into the rain before she could and carried on down the road. Adrenaline was pumping through my body as I raced for Luke's house. There's no way that Luke would kill himself. He would never. I could feel my heart pumping faster and faster as I drew closer to Luke's house. He wasn't dead, this was all some sort of misunderstanding, I knew Luke, he wouldn't do this.

"Oh God no." I froze as I looked directly at the police car that was parked directly outside of Luke's house. I wanted to throw up. I could feel myself growing dizzy as my eyes blurred more and more. This wasn't happening, it couldn't be. I slowly walked closer, not caring about the wind and the rain that coming at me at full force and stopped dead in my tracks as I watched two policemen walk out of their front door, Liz remaining at the door frame. She looked horrible. Her face was as white as a sheet, her eyes bloodshot. It didn't take long for her to see me. Before she could say anything I turned around and started running again. I felt as though I couldn't breathe. My entire body was numb, but I carried on until I reached my house.
