Your at a bar.
An unattractive, middle aged, clearly drunk man starts hitting on you.
"May I buy you a drink?" He asks, his hand on your thigh.
He reaches his other hand in his pocket, for his wallet.
"No thank you." You answer as politely as possible.
"I insist," he says, moving his hand farther up your thigh.
Panicked, you stand up to leave.
He puts his hand on your waist, pulling you towards him.
"Excuse me sir, please let go of my girlfriend."
You turn to see a gorgeous brunette woman walking towards you. She gives you a kiss on the cheek.
The man leaves, discussed.
You turn to the brunette
"Thank you. How can I repay you?" You ask her.
She smiles mischievously.
"How 'bought you buy me a drink?"
"I'm str.." you look into her eyes. Her gorgeous green eyes, framed by perfect eyeliner. Your eyes drift to her chest.
"Never mind. I'll get you a drink." You decide. "How about we go to my place after?" You ask her hopefully.
She gives you another one of her mischievous smiles. "Oh darlin I would love to."

Five years later

You and your girlfriend have went to pride parades every year for the past five years.
With her help, you've come out as lesbian.
You both live in Hawaii,
And have danced in the rain
Without a care in the world.
She is your everything.
You can't imagine life without her.
So you decide to propose.
You go to the store,
And find the perfect rings. The engagement band is gold, with a small emerald on it.
The wedding band is also gold, with a huge circular emerald in the middle
Polished to shimmer in the sun
And two small diamonds on the sides.
They are expansive,
But you would do anything for the girl you love.
After you ask the question, she gives you her signature mischievous grin.
"Isn't the answer obvious? What do you think the answer is?"
"I- uh-" you stutter.
She laughs.
"Yes, dummy, the answer is yes. I thought it should be obvious after all of our time together."
You slide the ring on her finger
And she pulls you into a kiss.
You melt into her, and she slides her hand up your neck to play with your hair.
You think back to the day at the bar. And thank yourself for buying her a drink.
Because she changed your life for the better.
And you couldn't be happier.
