"You are late," I inform Jeremy as he walks into my bakery as if he has all the time in the world. As if there isn't a line of customers waiting to be served.
This is the third time in a row that Jeremy has come late for his shift. I understand that he has been facing some personal issues but that doesn't mean that he can neglect his job.
"I am sorry, Erina. I haven't been sleeping well lately. I'll be on time henceforth," he mutters, looking down at his feet.
I let out a sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose, not wanting to scold him in front of the nosey customers.
"Fine. Please handle the cash counter while I go check on the table that hasn't ordered yet," I inform him while pointing at table 13 where a couple is seated.
I can't make out their faces as the guy's back is facing me and the girl is someone new. Definitely not my regular customer.
"Yes, okay. Thank you," whispers Jeremy and walks away as I make way toward the table.
Quickly approaching the table, I put on a small smile on my face as I greet the couple that appears to be having a heated conversation.
I do not want to interrupt them but they have been sitting here for almost an hour now without ordering anything.
Two of my regular customers had to takeaway their breakfast because an empty table was unavailable.
"Good Morning! May I help you with your order?"
Silence greets my question as the girl purses her lips and glares at the guy before looking up at me with a neutral expression.
Her cheeks are red, in anger or embarrassment, I am not sure. Looking at me, I notice her dark blue eyes as she narrows them at me.
She's a beautiful girl with an innocent aura around her.
Closing her eyes once, she takes a deep breath and then opens them to look at me.
"We are sorry, we haven't ordered for almost an hour that we have been here," she begins while smiling at me nervously and then glares at the guy in front of her.
Following her gaze I turn to look at the guy and then freeze.
Wow! Sitting in front of me is the hottest guy I have ever seen.
The guy has shaggy hair, falling over his eyes which makes him run his fingers through his hair. His aquamarine eyes stare back at me as his pouty lips lift up in a smug smile.
That smile brings me out of my thoughts and I blink my eyes as my cheeks turn red in embarrassment.
I just drooled over some girl's boyfriend. This has never happened before!
Ugh!
Quickly turning my attention at the girl, I am shocked when the girl chuckles at my embarrassed smile.
"I would like to order Solane's Special Coffee," she whispers and then stares at the guy expectantly.
Not wanting to stare at the guy again, I make a show of pulling out my note pad from the pocket of my apron and write down the girl's order.
"I would like a Black Coffee. Thank you," he speaks softly and I almost gasp at the huskiness in his voice.
Even his voice is sexy. God!
Clearing my throat once, I mutter a quick thank you and make a beeline toward the kitchen. Only when I am inside do I let out a sigh of relief.
Fuck, that was intense.
