Lion's Pov"The rogues have been getting bolder, that's why we should attack. Surprise them. They wouldn't even see it coming" proposed Alpha Malcom from the Baring Pack with a sinister smile on his face. I seriously don't know why I'm listening to them. Not only him, but all these middle aged pricks sitting around the conference room table. Each and every one of them think they are above everyone else. I don't even pity their mates, since they are all as bad as them. All rich, stuck up, convinced middle aged women, who have nothing better to do than look pretty at their husband's side and waste money. One thing is true though, rogue attacks had been more frequent now than ever and we need to act upon it. It's my responsibility as Alpha to gather with all others and decide how to address this problem. I understand that this is an important issue, but I'm sure that blitz attacking on an unknown territory is not a good idea, especially when we don't know who or what we are fighting against.
"No." the room went silent and everyone looked at me waiting for me to continue "I won't allow my warriors to attack on unknown and uncharted territory, especially against rogues. Rogues are mad and unpredictable, going there without a solid and thorough plan is a suicide mission."
"But Alpha don't you think-"
Before he can finish his sentence, I stand up feeling the familiar burn in my eyes, meaning Ares was angry, wanting to come out.
We should rip him apart in front of everyone
HOW DARE HE QUESTION US
Calm down, I'll handle him
Women gasp and men cower as I stalk towards the excuse of a wolf that defied me
"Did you question my decision?"
"N-no Alpha I-I would-d nev-nev-er"
"Does anyone here think they have the authority to question my decision?"
No one says a thing, angering Ares even more
"ANSWER ME" I shout with my Alpha voice
"No Alpha" - says everyone around the room simultaneously
"See? Everyone knows except you Gerald. Now, you ever defy me one more time and I'll make sure you deeply regret it. I can give you my word. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes Alpha" - answers Gerald meekly
"LOUDER"
"Yes Alpha!"- cries out the middle class wolf
"I'm glad. We're done, everyone leave. NOW"
Immediately all the silence which once consumed the room is tainted by the repetitive sound of everyone's feet scattering and hurrying to leave. I'm trying to compose myself when I hear Nico, my righthand man saying something I can't quite grasp.
"ion- Lion - LION!"
"WHAT!"
"Are you even hearing me? I've been calling your name for 5 minutes. Are you calm now?"
"Yes I'm fine, I'm fine. I'm going to go for a run"
Before he can answer I'm already halfway through the door and ready to descend downstairs and shift.
Give me control
Wait a fucking minute let me get to the woods first
I need to shift
"Calm down, you know it's dangerous to shift if you're mad, especially in the pack house."
My thoughts are strained as the way to the woods seems longer than usual. Once I get there, I give up my control to Ares. It wouldn't be worth fighting him on this because we both know it'd end like it always does, both of us in pain and exhausted with everything on a 7 mile radius completely destroyed. The crackling of my bones together with the feel of the fresh grass on my paws helps my mind cool down and fills my body with energy, persuading me to take off. Paws hitting the ground at an insane speed making the wind blow on my thick fur and clearing up my face allows me to get lost in thoughts. With Ares in control of my body, my mind is free to roam around meaningless thoughts and ideas until loud noises disturb my peace. "Where the hell are we?" - I ask, my brain still fuzzy from being lost in thoughts so long.
Coming to a stop I analyse my surroundings, trying to take in what was before me. In the distance, what seemed like a makeshift boxing ring was set up on a tall muddy platform, fully surrounded by brute, loud spectators. By the crowd's raging, something big was going on, and unable to resist I approached the scene. It was like something was calling me closer, beckoning me to walk deeper into that area. Being in my wolf form was giving me an advantage, allowing me to slither between their standing legs. The closer we got, the more unsetlled Ares became, leaving me also on edge.
There is something here I can feel it
What do you mean? What is it?
Get closer GET CLOSER
The moment I looked up to the rafty stage I understood why Ares was going mad. A small boy, not taller than 5'4 stood shirtless in his fighter stance, facing a gnarly looking brute who looked like he hadn't showered in months. His fair porcelain skin glowed beautifully even with the area's poor lighting, his stark white hair looked ruffled and shiny, with some strands sticking to his forehead, framing the bluest eyes I had ever seen in my life. The kind of eyes you can't turn away from, showcasing the shade of a calm sky before a heavy storm.
MATE!
Deciding to shift back to my human so I could get a better view of my precious mate, I look up just in time to see the disgusting troll he was fighting against land a hit to the right side of his head. A loud growl errupted from my throat, Ares and I ready to pounce on the excuse of a human being that laid a hand on our mate and rip him to shreds, but before we had the chance my beautiful boy had already upper-cut that troll and kick him off his feet, making him fall face flat on the ground.
Seems like our little mate can stand up for himself
Even though the crowd booed at him, he seemed to enjoy it, picking up the massive pile of crinkled bills, probably amounting to around 500$ while the host anounced another win for the White Wolf. Interesting. As he stood back up and turned to leave the rink, his gaze locked with mine intensely. I could tell he was curious, but seemed to snap out of it rushing to leave.
We can't let our mate get away
Don't worry, now that we found him he's forever ours.
Heh, hi guys. I don't even know what to say. Everything's been chaotic these past months and I just couldn't add one more responsibility to the list, but I missed writing so much that I couldn't resist. Hope you like it, feel welcome to give me some feedback and please notify me if there are any spelling mistakes since english is not my first language.
