AS THE time passed, the children grew. Yudhishtir was now 16, Bheem; 14, Arjun; 13, Nakul and Sahdev; 11 while Devasena was about to turn eleven in a few months. The brothers loved their sister. She was like a porcelain doll for them, even a single scratch on her body made her brothers go into panic mode. All they wanted was to keep their sister safe and happy in the forest. The siblings shared a bond like no other. It was as if neither of the six siblings could live without each other. Devasena was the one who used to keep her brothers together, she was the glue of the group.

Yudhishtir, the oldest son of Pandu and the spiritual son of Lord Yamraj, was the righteous one. He only followed the path of dharma and was extremely protective of his sister. If she would even leave his sight for a second, he would start panicking and start searching for her, making his brothers tease him for he was the one who used to be the calmest of them all.

Bheem, the spiritual son of Lord Vayu and half brother of Lord Hanuman, was the strongest one. Being the son of Lord Vayu, he had enormous strength which he satisfied by his enormous diet. He used to always sneak food in the midst of the night along with Nakul and Devasena, who always used to help him and would get not so equal share in the food.

Arjun, spiritual son of Lord Indra was the bravest one. He never backed down, doesn't matter if he would lose or win. He would always give his best. He was an excellent student, something that Devasena admired and tried to become herself. Arjun wanted his sister to be the best warrior, to defy all the odds and prove them that she was strongest one among those men.

Nakul and Sahadev were the spiritual son of Lord Ashwins. They were excellent in herbs and medicines. Nakul was the most handsome brother among them all and took pride in it whereas Sahadev could see the future which made him aloof from his brothers. The twins being nearby age of Chandra made them the most mischievous ones among the siblings. Since Sahadev was good at astrology he used to tell them the time to do the pranks, upon knowing the time Nakul and Devasena would pull the pranks on their elder siblings.

Devasena was strong for any girl of her age. She had a sharp mind and could learn things fast. Under Pandu, she became a brilliant axe-wielder. Not only axe but she could use any weapon. Pandu knew the prophecy of Devasena, he knew what she was, nonetheless he loved her more than any of his son, not because she was a goddess because she ruled his heart by her innocence. He would never let her stay away from him. Even though she didn't live in a palace, she lived the life of a princess. Pandu used to call her Devasena, since she had the power to defeat any of the gods by her strength as well as wit. While her brothers called her Parthvi as she was the ray of light of their lives just like the moon in the night sky and was the closest to Parth i.e., Arjun.

The needles of time moved as the clouds of darkness covered the life of Pandavas. Pandu died as he activated his curse while Madri opted for Sati, wanting to sacrifice her life along with her beloved husband. Kunti was left with the responsibility of her six children. By god's grace, Bhishma Pitamaha and Mahamantri Vidur, upon hearing the news immediately found the family and took them back to where they belonged. The palace of Hastinapur. A place Kunti feared to go. She knew the lives for herself and the children won't be easy there but it was her duty to take her children back to the place they belonged to.

The children of royal palace are supposed to go to gurukul in order to complete their education. Since the Pandavas were back now, it was time for the Pandavas to leave with the Kauravas for Guru Drona's ashram and for Devasena to go to Kanyavas but here the arrangements were changed.

Bhishma Pitamaha found out that Devasena was an excellent warrior and he himself was one of the spectator as when he heard the news of Devasena knowing about weapons from Kunti, he asked the eleven year old to spar with him which she confidently said yes to. She would have nearly won had it not been the sudden distraction or as she said the sudden sound of flute distracted her. Bhishma knew that if she were taught in the fields of weaponry she would excel in them. Pitamaha wasn't the one to discriminate between girls and boys for he knew that in the end it was Maa Durga who killed Mahisasura when none of the other gods could, hence he ordered King Dhritrashtra to send Devasena to Guru Dron's ashram instead of Kanyavaas something the King hesitantly agreed.

Now all that the people of Hastinapur had to do was wait...wait to find out who there Yuvraj would be; Yudhishtir or Duryodhan.
