[GETTING REWORKED] Fayette

Finally, after a week and a half, Yudi managed to get back to the safe haven. He knew and wished he could get back earlier to be with Fayette, but he was so worried for Darkness. Darkness was already an old man, and who knew how well his body could fight the illness. Yudi this time at the castle, used up most of his energy to help Darkness heal faster, leaving him off to look pretty colorless and tired. But he didn't care, all he wanted was to finally hug Fayette and spend time with her since Darkness was doing much better now.

He slowly walked over to the wooden gates of the haven and knocked in a certain rhythm. Slowly but steadily two antennas popped out to reveal Wilford who was investigating if it really was Yudi or not. When he opened it, his face shifted to worried but he quickly tried to hide it with an awkward smile.

"O-oh...Heyy Yudi! Ahaha...it's been a while you've been here."
"Hello, Wilford!!! How have you been butterfly boy?"
Yudi practically jumped at Wilford and hugged him tightly. Wilford hugged back but quickly let go trying to push Yudi a bit further.
"Aah...I've been good Yudi. You know... the safe haven needs a bit of renovation, and I think it's a little messy to come in.
Yudi raised his brow and walked further into the safe haven.
Wilford panicked and quickly closed the gate. He ran after Yudi and tried getting in his way.

"It's not that big of a deal! I'm sure we can get around the mess!"
"Aha...y-yeah! But maybe it will be a big deal!
"As long as Fayette doesn't mind, I'm sure it's alright."
Wilford felt a shiver crawl down his spine as he flew in front of Yudi very quickly.

"She's REALLY busy right now! Or she's sleeping...last time I checked she...I don't know. Maybe check on her later?"
Yudi raised his brow a second time and just giggled.
"Oh Wilford, you're so silly sometimes."
Yudi walked up to his and Fayette's house and went inside.

"Princess! I'm home!"
Yudi said loudly and expected to hear quick footsteps running towards him but the house was dead silent.
"Hm. Maybe she is asleep."
He went to put down his things in the kitchen and then went over to Fayette's bedroom. He knocked on the door and quietly opened it.
"Princess? Are you asleep?"

Yet again, he was greeted with silence. He looked around and Fayette was nowhere to be found. 
He felt a wave of unease rush over him. Wilford caught up to him and sighed.
"Can I finally tell you what happened.?"
"Fine. What happened?"

"W-well...a few days ago...uhm...Fayette went missing."
Yudi could feel time stop and his heart skip a beat. He couldn't believe what he just got told. His kid, his daughter goes missing? He almost immediately got overwhelmed by tears.
"...What? Missing...? N-no you must be joking!"
"I'm afraid I'm not Yudi. We searched for her everywhere but...she's gone. We even asked Florentin and...well he said he saw her leaving the haven."
"AND HE DID NOTHING?!"

He was tearing up like crazy and he was very close to snapping again.
"Well, he did say he tried to stop her but she was too stubborn!"

Yudi went silent and turned around.
"I'd like to be alone for a moment."
Wilford nodded and left the room, closing the door behind him. Yudi sat down on Fayette's bed and place one of her crafts in his hand. He held the craft tightly and broke down crying. It was very loud too, Wilford could hear it too from the living room.
"FAYETTE!! MY BABY!!...WHY?!"

His tears made the craft all wet. He couldn't notice but slowly but surely all the color from him drained and he felt lifeless. He felt like a vital organ has been just ripped out of him and he is just a walking body with no purpose. He put down the craft and instead picked up the plushie he gave her just about a week ago. He hugged it and cried into it very hard. The plushie had the scent of her hair which hurt Yudi even more. His hair even lit up from the aggressive crying but he tried his best to calm himself down to not light the house on fire.

"My little sheep...where did you go?..."

He wiped his tears and now he really felt like there was no more purpose to life. He ended up not moving for a good 10 minutes and just remaining still hugging the plushie, trying to imagine it was Fayette who was squeaking with joy saying "Papa! You're home! I missed you, Papa!"

Wilford finally came into the room and sat down next to Yudi on the bed. He hugged him and sighed.
"I'm so sorry we couldn't take care of her."
"My baby. My sweet little sheep could be God knows where in the world right now and without me...she can't fight! She could even die from her asthma...why why WHY DID FLORENTIN HAVE TO LET HER INTO THE WILD?! WHY?!"

His hair lit up on fire again, this time he had it under control but he was very very angry and disappointed.
"He didn't know..."
"Whatever."
He got up and walked into the kitchen to put the plushie away.
"Where are you going??"

"I'm going back to the castle. I need to tell Darkness about this. We need to find her."
"Yudi, please! If soldiers find her they are gonna kill her!"
"...It's the only way we could ever find her again. This empire is massive, we can't just spot her out of nowhere. And I'll go with every soldier troop. Even if I will be exhausted and dying. I'm not giving up. Not until I find her."

He didn't let Wilford respond as he already left the house and was heading towards the gates. He left the safe haven very quickly and set off to get back to the castle.

As the guards saw him walk towards the entrance, insanely exhausted, they let him in and led him to Darkness' bedroom. Darkness was on his bed, reading a book, but upon seeing how terrible Yudi looked he nearly jumped out of bed, even though he wasn't supposed to.

"Yudi! Dear God what happened to you?... You look so...drained."
"...Our little girls missing."
Darkness now felt the same heart skip as Yudi did.
"What...? What do you mean?!"
"She's been missing for a few days. We need to look for her."

Darkness carefully picked up Yudi and placed him down on the bed. He tucked him in and kissed his forehead.
"I'll go tell some troops to begin searching. You stay here and rest, okay?"
"No Darkness. I need to go too. I can't rest. Not while I know she's out there, possibly in danger."

"Yudi. She's okay. Do not worry. We'll find her. But you really need to rest. You lost all your color too...You deserve a break."
Yudi sighed and closed his eyes. Shortly after he fell asleep. Darkness, still tired from the illness, however, managed to get out of his bedroom for the first time in a long while and go tell troops to start the search.
