Liars have no mercy to Tobias. Ophelia could have simply told the truth and maybe she wouldn't be having this anxiety attack on the floor over what he was going to do to her. Slowly, Tobias tilted his head and stared at who he once admired. She was holding her hands up to her face and sobbing into them. Tears were falling on the ground as rain continued to pour outside. He could barely hear her, however, over the thoughts in his head. They were getting loud but he hadn't even noticed until now. The thoughts were practically begging to get a piece of her and show her who was really boss. He gripped his hands into fists and hit his head on each side to try and stop the thoughts. He didn't really want to kill her. That was an overreaction to her lying. He just wanted to yell at her a lot and tell her truly why messing with his pills is a bad idea. That bad idea being that his thoughts race at a million miles per minute and he can't focus on just one. All. these thoughts weren't about a lot of different things though; they were about hurting Ophelia and doing something he would get a lot of trouble for. It took everything in him to back away and run back into the bedroom. He slammed the door and locked it behind him. If keeping himself isolated protected her, so be it.
Ophelia looked up where Tobias was. She didn't know why he went back into his room but she was thankful for it. She was so scared of him; it was terrifying not knowing his next move. The thunder rumbled right next to the cabin. Her hands were shaking so bad and tears were leaking from her face. It was hard stabilizing herself. Ophelia needed to get out of there but did she even have cell signal? Her phone was in the living room where she was laying before all this happened. She grabbed onto the table next to her and pulled herself up. She didn't want to make a noise in case Tobias changed his mind and attacked her.
Slowly, she made her way to the living room. The noise of the rain droplets pounding on the grass outside seemed to conceal the sounds of her footsteps enough for him to not notice she got up. Her phone lit up; she got a notification. It was from her mother who wanted to know how she was enjoying it there. Ophelia unlocked her phone and called her mother. She walked to the kitchen and sat on the floor next to the fridge. Hopefully, he won't hear her. The phone rang and rang. It didn't seem like her mother would pick up. Fuck.
She decided to leave a voicemail instead. "Hey, it's Ophelia. Something is wrong with Tobias and I don't know what it is. He's scaring me. Can you come pick me up? The address-" Ophelia looked up. Tobias was standing right in front of her with a kitchen knife in his hand. She screamed and clutched the phone to her chest. There was nowhere to go. She cornered herself to the fridge unintentionally and now she was going to die. She didn't want to die. She wanted to live and get away from this monster.
Tobias pulled her up by her hair and rammed the knife into her stomach. She kept screaming and it hurt his ears. He wanted her to stop screaming. He pulled the knife out and thrusted it into her chest. Her breath rattled and her mouth was gaping with no more noise. Ophelia rolled her eyes up in her head and her body fell on the floor. The smell of metallic filled his nose. It smelled so good. The sound of the knife going into her soft body rang in his ears. All his senses were electrocuted with adrenaline. He just killed somebody. No, not just somebody. His loving girlfriend of five years. She was now a dead mess on the floor. He would have to hide the body then kill himself before the police found out about this.
Wait. Her mother was still on the phone. He picked it up. Thank god, it was on voicemail. He quickly canceled the voicemail and put the phone in his pocket. Tobias felt guilty but the feeling disappeared when he remembered Ophelia was going to leave him. He didn't want her to leave and the only way she wouldn't was if she was dead. Now, she will be with him until he dies with her. How will he kill himself? He was thinking the same way she did; stabbing himself in the stomach then chest. However, he wanted a quicker death and he wanted to be in their house one last time. Tobias wanted to write a note and he wanted someone to discover him rather be left in this stupid fucking cabin like the body would.
His thoughts continued to rush through his head. However, he made an attempt to ignore them and walked out into the rain to go into his car. The storm seemed to have calmed down but it didn't make any difference to him. He was a shell of a man who just wanted the thoughts to be gone. Tobias started up the car and drove away from the cabin and the body. The next renters for it would find it for themselves but at that point, he would be gone.
