3 months later

I grunted as I face planted on mine and Ash's bed after getting home from school, Ash has been watching me like hawk, ever since Rhyan "step-dad" was sentenced to 10 years in prison and sent to another state, it's kinda hard to get any work done with him hovering over me every ten seconds.

You see, they knew about Rhyan's beatings to me, but they hadn't known about a certain little detail in which I specifically refrained from mentioning. Not mentioning it bit me in the ass...pun not intended, his stupid lawyer brought it up, which lead to me freaking out and Ashton nearly beating the crap out of him. I had called to him before he could though, which got him to insist on following me around.

Now, I love that he's being protective, I just hate that this had to happen before he started. He still posts videos online and sings his little heart out...Ain't No Rock is my one of favourite covers he's done so far. My Hero will forever be my favourite, purely because he carried that song like a boss.

Will is thinking of quitting Swallow The Goldfish if they don't start writing actual songs soon. I nearly hit him when Ashton told me he'd said that. Let's just say, he's actually scared of me now, which I guess is better than him thinking he could say whatever he pleased behind Ashton's back.

"It wasn't that bad." I groaned and turned my head to look Ash.

"Yes, well, that's easy for you to say. You don't have Bio Chem, Physics, Biology and Anatomy along with your normal classes."

"Well, then why take them?"

"I can't get into medschool without them."

"You're still planning to go to England?" I sighed and shook my head.

"I want to, because I'm tired of getting what I want, because you know the things I was hiding from you."

"What?" I sat up and gave Ashton a look.

"Do I really need to say what happened? Or do you have a better memory than that?" He frowned.

"You think I'm being the way I am was because I saw you practically dead on the couch?"

"Not just that–"

"So what if I am? I have...11 years to make up for all the times I should have, but didn't."

"Ash..."

"I love you, Ari. I will not let another person hurt you...ever again." I didn't answer, I just hugged him.

"To answer your question...no. I'm not planning on going to England, but I will be taking online courses. However you have a gig tomorrow, so you need to eat and rest up."

"Okay, fine. You're coming with me though." I rolled my eyes playfully with an amused smile and shook my head.

"I don't get it." I looked at the strange female who was suddenly next to me.

"Get what?" I don't really know why I'm talking to this girl, but I figured I'd humour her.

"How people think he's straight." I raised an eyebrow.

"Who?" She gestured to my brother and Will.

"Blondie." I winced.

"Can you not go around pointing that out, he's not that open." She looked at me and smirked.

"Are you?"

"I don't go around telling people, but if they figure it out...then, whatever." I said as I shrugged and waved my hand in a whatever gesture.

"Wait, you're not straight?" I laughed.

"No, I'm gay."

"Damn, I thought my gaydar was working..." She paused for a second. "Anyway, I'm Peaura." I smiled as I shook her hand.

"Beautiful name, I'm Archer."

"Hey. Who's this?" Ashton asked as he came up from behind me and stood next to me.

"Ashton, Peaura. Peaura, Ashton." They shook hands and gave friendly smiles.

"Nice to me you, but uh...Ari, we gotta go." I sighed and nodded.

"Hey, wait give me your number, we can talk more later." We exchanged numbers and did stupid selfies for the contact photos.

"She was cool." I nodded in agreement as I put down my food on the table.

"Yeah..." Ash and I plopped onto the couch as I turned on the TV. "For someone I just met, she seemed chill, you know? Like she just vibes to everything."

"Worthy of your friendship?"

"I don't know, yet, but I'm willing to find out." We chuckled and picked up our plates while we watched Family Guy.

"Yeah, I don't know if you know this, but there's this dude who's also doing cover songs and two other guys just joined him yesterday..."

"Arch, quit it, I'm practicing." I shook my head in amusement as I watched him hit his drums to the beat of a song, he won't listen to anyone unless, you're talking about food or cute guys...he's always subtle about that last one though.

This, is not him being subtle, if it were he wouldn't have said anything. He would've just quietened his drumming while letting others talk. As for food...that's a different story, he'd very animatedly talk about food, and if we're ordering he will jump to order before anyone else.

To most people, it can be annoying, but to me? I just smile and watch him be the adorable giant puppy dog that he is.

"He quit!" I blinked before looking at my twin who looked ready to kill someone. "The asshole quit!" I didn't respond, I didn't have to, all I did was open my arms and he tackled me.

"He's an idiot...he's going nowhere without you. Anyone would kill to have you as apart of their band."

"You...don't k-know that..." I carried him away from his drumkit and downstairs to make him some comfort food.

"Mum...cookie?" I giggled at his cuteness and mum nodded as I mouthed "spaghetti" to her.

"Of course, Archi, take him to the loungeroom." And so I carried him to the loungeroom and turned on Ashton's favourite season of Family Guy.

"I'll be right back...okay?" I went to kitchen after getting a nod and gave mum the look.

"No, you're not beating him up, Ashton needs you with him more, I got the spaghetti handled, just cuddle with him."

"Okay, but if he comes here, I won't hesitate to kick his ass." She chuckled and I smiled smugly as I walked back to Ashton and plopped myself next to him.
