Edward has been into depression for the past days. He never told anyone (not even you) on what he's been going through. Therefore he shuts you and everyone else out. One night Edward was about to chuff onto the cliff where the tracks end but was coupled on by Gordon!
Edward: Gordon! Uncouple me!
Gordon: no! I won't do it!
Edward: why not? I'd rather be scrapped than go into depression throughout eternity!
Gordon: listen to me, Edward! We all know how you are feeling, but don't you want everyone to be happy that you're dead?!
This got Edward to breakdown into tears and decided to go back to tidmoth sheds. Next day, you were getting Edward cleaned up and ready when Edward spoke.
Edward: I'm so sorry, y/n.
You: huh? Why?
Edward: all those days I had shut you out due to my depression. I dunno what else to do
You: *climbs onto Edwards buffer* you can still talk to me or one of the other engines.... Even sir topham hatt
Edward puckered his lips waiting for you to kiss him. You shrug and put your lips on his and you two share a tender kiss.
