Goodbyes

We jumped over fallen logs and battled low branches

"They're getting closer" Kevin said he's the second lieutenant and is an expert in  strategizing and he doesn't talk much which is perfect.

"The perfume effect wore off and their following our tracks take to the trees I have a plan" I said pointing to a low branch.

I used flight magic to grab on to the branch and climbed up with we traveled by trees jumping from one branch to another.

I heard another howl but this one was louder and brought shivers all over my body.

"It's the alpha we've got to run" I said whistling.

"Why did yo-ah its that thing" Monte said point to the mystic stallion who is now a big eagle.

"Get on if you want to live" I said sitting on its back while they joined.

"General are you sure this is a good idea" Andrew said from behind me.

"Just hold on and don't fall off I need you alive" I said.

"B-but I cant hold on to you that's inappropriat-eeeeeeahhhh" as we took off I felt him grab my waist for dear life.

"Am sorry am sorry am sorry am sorry" Andrew said still holding me with his eyes closed tightly.

"Sometimes I wonder if you really are the commander In my army"I said rolling my eyes chuckling.

I looked down and saw around a hundred wolves following us from below and almost gasped seeing three mage wolves they could hit us out of the sky with spells.

"The ride might get a little wild so hold on"I said dodging the arrows being shot at us.

"We can't Dodge forever Andrew take the reins" I said switching positions with Andrew who was practically begging me now to let go

I shot a fire ball down below leaving the army disoriented I summoned a magical bow and coated the arrows in silver I shot ten and it multiplied 20 times I heard howled filled with sorrows and pain.

"hold this I picked them up earlier" I said giving them back their respectful weapons out of my magic sack.

"Thanks" they all said

"You go back I'll hold them off and no matter what do not look back" I said ready to jump but Monte held my wrist "allow me to fight with you general" he said and I was going to object but he said"it will buy them more time and if you die down there I'll never forgive myself them either" I gave in i sighed and turned to him.

"Slow me down and I'll kill you myself" I said jumping off "widow will take good care you and you should take care of him too" I said free falling with Monte right beside me.

"Let's fight together buy as much time as possible and pull out if you know you can't win I give you permission to run away" I said half way to the ground.

"As a soldier I would never run away from a fight how preposterous".

"You've learnt well" I said as I looked down at the hundred Wolfs all with killing intent towards us.

I gathered wind and cleared a space for me land I might not have all my powers but this is enough to kill these small fries.

I landed in a dramatic manner with my stolen coat flying off leaving my weapons visable .

I took off my twin swords and merged them together turning them into one.

"Why don't I get I cool weapon" Monte said just landing.

"If we survive I might craft one for you" and with that spears,arrows and knifes were thrown at us.

I took a look at the eagle flying away with the other three on its back.

I put up a healing shield  which turned them into flowers and paid attention to the fight "oh you didn't have to"I said cheekily the werewolves got angrier.

I ran in the crowd and started wiping them out as fast as possible before the rest of the pack with the alpha comes.

I was in the middle of beheading the last mage wolf which is all the last wolf when I heard his howl.

"Monte let's go" I said and he nodded.

We ran the other direction into the thick forest  "am getting tired" Monte said
Breathing heavily.

We have been running for hours but they are still chasing us its gotten so dark I have to rely on my good eyesight.

"I'll heal you" I said using my gift to heal his wounds.

"That feels much better but let's keep going" he said and we continued running with them them still chasing us until it was morning.

Monte collapsed "Monte get up were almost at the border"i said also feeling my stamina draining but i still had strength to walk "please just run away i'll only slow you down general"monte said looking pale he sprawled out in the grass glaring at the sky he then turned to look at me.

"You're our only hope by now you should know the queen can't be trusted she tricked us to get back at the werewolf king for rejecting her all those years ago she kidnapped the king's brother in revenge and we suffered for it but we cant really blame the king he's a better ruler than our queen will ever be".monte said i sat beside him "i'll save his brother" i said and monte laughed "of course you will" monte said "you would never leave anybody when they're in danger but I hope you'll compromise this once" he continued.

"you should leave i'll hold them off for a while this my last act of service to you now go" monte said getting his gun out i bit my lip and gave him one of my swords"take this and don't be stupid try to stay alive until i come for you okay"i said handing him the sword "its a twin blade as long as you have this I will be able to find you" I said and he nodded smiling "I was glad to have you as my general" he said sitting up on the grass he looked up at me "Can I at least know your name.

I stared at him "Meira" I said and started to walk away I heard him say "bringer of light Meira"

I smiled and continued my journey.
