The Ghost of You

First step

Hinata's POV

I decided I'm going to return from my work since I've been gone for too long and I felt bad leaving the responsibilities to Tenten. Although, she told me before that she can handle it and I need time for myself. I'm preparing myself, dressing in the teacher's formal uniform, filling the books and materials I prepared and ate my breakfast.

When I looked at myself in the mirror, I noticed my drastic change. My vibrant features turned into lifeless complexion, my eyes were gloomy and dull, and my skin was pale compared to before. While I was looking at the mirror, I turned around. I felt someone was watching me. I felt the cold feeling that touches my skin.

I must have gone crazy.

I left and drove my way to my own school. It's a 20 minutes drive. I arrived at the school and parked the car. It's already 7:49 am and the class starts at 8. The bell rang and kids were already running their way through their rooms. I usually starts my class at 9 and I have one hour to see how everyone were doing when I was gone.

I headed to my office and was greeted by my co-teachers. They haven't seen me for a long time and they quickly noticed my drastically change, altho they understand my condition since it's hard to accept losing someone you love. Some had their pity looks which I hated it, but I put that aside for now.

I saw Tenten running her way to my office. "Hinataaa!" shouted Tenten.

"Hi Tenten" I forced a smile

"Why didn't you call me that you're coming back now?" Tenten slammed her hand on her table.

"Oh sorry, I guess I want to surprise everyone. Also, I can't just leave you her taking all the responsibilities. I also have mine and I felt bad not taking care of it and also I miss everyone" I hoped she believed my reasons. It's sometimes annoyed me getting a lot of questions.

"Ohh okay. Then welcome back Hinata-chan. You don't know how your students keep asking me when will you come back"

"Yeah, I can imagine that a lot" I giggled slightly. I'm still not feeling to be lively again since my condition affected me so much.

"But are you sure you're okay to work now? cuz you know I can still handle them" Tenten holds my right hand.

"Yes, it's okay Tenten. I'm totally fine now, although it takes time for me to heal but I guess this is the first step"

"Okay"

After one hour of observing, everything seems fine. All the problems here has been resolve, the complains has been taken care, and thanks to Tenten, I have nothing to worry about. I headed to my grade 1 student's room. When I entered, the kids were surprised and jump happily and hugged me. I also hugged them back. Their smiles surely made my day.

"Teacher Hinata, We miss you so much" one of my pupil named Yuki shouted.

"Yes, where have you been teacher?"

"Yes, where were you? I thought you won't come back"

The kids asked, at the same time and I already knew this would happen. "I miss you all to everyone, but first, before I answers your question, you have to get back on your proper seats so that we can start our class" They all do what I said.

After that, I answered their all questions one by one altho I didn't tell them what really happened since they're too young too understand. Some kids said, how they got their test perfectly, showing me off their achievement while I was gone, and even all of them wrote a letter for me. I was so touched by them even they're still a child, they would make everything seems fine. I did not regret coming to work since they made me forget my problem and condition for a moment.
