//A.N/ /I'm kinda excited for this chapter! There is a time skip of 2 months at the start of this chapter to set the story line into the red butler arc.
P.S: I'm using female pronouns for Grell as she is a trans female though she was born male and Yana-san also uses feminine pronouns for her which I'll stick to.
If you want to read Grell as male you're more than welcome to. I will not tolerate any kind hate towards my Queen !
now, onto the chapter....//A.N//
The door opened up to a breathtaking sky and a view of the busy street as I ambled down the stairs of the shop.
From inside I could hear the voice of my housemate call out "Don't forget your scarf! It's getting chilly these days."
The owner of the shop rushes to the doorway with a long piece of fabric which she hands me.
"Honestly you worry too much Nina." I wave off her concerns while wrapping the scarf around my neck, "Well then, I'll be off."
Securing a hand around my sling purse I walk briskly across the crowded street.
The job I had taken under Nina went better than expected. I was earning a handsome salary monthly and gathered a reasonable amount of fame. A surprise though was me finding Nina to be an extremely focused individual who had big ambitions towards which she worked hard. The brunette was also an extremely caring person as I learnt from my experiences whilst living together.
A group of ladies that passed me brought my attention back to the path I was on.
The nearing end of the social season is the reason for the presently bustling street I had been crossing. For some time now, all that the local customers spoke of were the balls and gatherings that the upper class nobles organised.
I stopped at the intersection to check in my purse for my outing's purpose. The purse was thoroughly rummaged before it presented an opened light blue letter, the contents of which had asked me to reach the London town house of the Phantomhive family in neat writing.
In my inattentive state a carriage pulled up near the pavement of where I walked.
The Phantomhive crest was indented into the door of the carriage, letting me know that it was safe to journey in.As if on cue the carriage driver turned around to speak
"The young master has asked for you to be dropped. He said that it would take lesser time compared to walking."
I nod to the man and get into the vehicle, swiftly moving to occupy the right seat near the window.
Once I felt comfortable I looked out of the window and towards the streets of London.
It's been almost two months since I arrived in the black butler universe hasn't it?
Absent-mindedly I picked at the strap of my purse as I thought about the events that were to unfold.
I guess no matter how lovely a world is to look at, all worlds do indeed have a heartbreaking truth that lurks beneath its surface just waiting to be exposed.
Perhaps at another time all these people had splendidly happy lives with their loved ones. Or they never tried to reach for more than what they needed. That might explain why they're such empty individuals, merely a shell of what their happy past self might have been.
