Recovery
The countries were stuck in the house. Nobody really went out and nobody talked to each-other. 'Shopping' was done by Germany and America every once in a while. Everyone had seemed to get comfortable in this environment but questions were still not answered; how did this happen?
Germany quite obviously had made himself the leader of this group and had taken on all situations facing the countries. Something was bugging him, why was no one questioning how this apocalypse even started? Germany wanted to know. Everything was boring and sad in the countries' lives. Germany decided to call everyone to talk. Everyone came apart from Ukraine. "Guys, we can't just sit around like this forever, we have to do something or find someone and find out how this happened and... y'know, stuff like that. Also, we need to seriously take care of Ukraine. For all we know she could be dead." He explained. Everyone agreed, there was really nothing else to do anyways. Therefore, Canada and Germany knocked down Ukraines door to find her laying in her bed facing the wall. The room had a heavy atmosphere and felt very dense. Canada approached her and turned her over to face the other countries. She looked very pale and dull.
"Ukraine? Are you alright?" Canada asked severely worried. Ukraine just blankly stared at him. The tall country picked up the weaker country and carried her out into the living room. He carefully laid her down onto the couch. As he was doing so, he looked into her lifeless eyes and felt sadness fill his heart. They just kept this eye contact until Germany walked in with some warm tea and placed it on the coffee table. Canada sighed. He was really worried for the country. Russia was stood hidden watching the countries closely. His expression darkened.
It took hours for Ukraine to start showing any sort of emotion. Little simple smiles for the smallest gestures the countries did. Every once in a while every country, other than Russia, checked in on Ukraine to make sure she was fine and got her anything she needed. Eventually, Ukraine started to become more lively and started speaking a tiny bit. Canada spent the most time with her, speaking to her about random things and complaining about little things. While he was busy talking, Ukraine was behind him smiling like an idiot at his little conversations.
"Thank you, Canada" she whispered. Canada stopped and chuckled. "Hey! Don't worry about it! I love spending time with you. It's really boring just sitting around in fear," he shrugged. Canada chatted with her all night and eventually rested his head and fell asleep. Ukraine also dozed off and slept peacefully that night.
"Hey love birds! Wake up!" UK yelled at Canada and Ukraine. Both of them jumped simultaneously. "Right, I know yous are all comfy but I got some tea to drink and I drink it on the sofa!" She went on. Canada frowned. He was annoyed by this, but he knew UK meant no harm so he offered to carry Ukraine to his room. He laid her on his bed carefully and sat down with her. "Germany says we should move from this house, or just this area in general" Canada started. "Is he? I think that would be a great fresh start for us all!" Ukraine exclaimed. "Yeah, he wants to find out more. I'm glad you're recovering now." Canada smiled. Ukraine nodded. "If you want, I can protect you in the future when we move," he told her. Ukraine laughed, "Really? I can protect myself thanks"
Canada went red. "Oh, yeah, sorry my bad I didn't mean it that way-"
"Hey, it's alright but I don't need protection. Just because I'm weak now doesn't mean I will be later." She smiled. Canada nodded. He felt embarrassed that he even asked.
"Hey guys, Ukraine you alright now? I have something to say if you're able to come and listen." Germany said coming in. "Yes, I'm feeling better now. And I want to listen, obviously." Ukraine claimed. Germany nodded.
Ukraine and Canada sat together on the couch as the other countries gathered around together. "Okay guys, we need to move from here. I think it's stupid to just be stuck forever.
I'd say we need two more cars, just incase. I'm sure some of you already have cars so we can just go get those. Any questions?"
"Yeah, where exactly are we going?" UK asked. Germany froze for a moment. "I don't know, wherever feels right."
"Right but that could work out horribly" UK protested. Everyone agreed. "Guys, let's just stop at random cities and towns every once in a while to see if we can find anything." America spoke up.
"Ja, I think that'll work.
Pack your things guys, we're leaving"
