No surprises
"Shit, what are we meant to do?" Canada asked with Ukraine clinging onto his arm. They have been walking around for a bit, but the hotel seemed to be endless. "This is no good," Ukraine sighed,"And of course we brought a candle light!" They kept closely together until they reached the stairs to the second floor. They didn't really know the hotel well as they had not been here long. "Might as well, right?"
Ukraine nodded. They walked all the way down to the first floor, still lost but always had the exit nearby if anything. "We should just try to find our way back-"
Canada slapped his hand over Ukraine's mouth. Ukraine was confused but then saw a swarm of zombies. It wasn't just a little group. A whole hoard. "Shit, Ukraine get on my back" Canada whispered frantically. Ukraine didn't question him and jumped on. He walked briskly to the staircase and then ran as fast as he could. "Those were zombies..." Ukraine trembled. "Let's stay up on the third floor, okay?"
"Finland?" Norway sat up. "Hey, careful there" Finland said putting his hand behind Norway's head gently. "Where's Iceland?" he asked. Finland took a deep breath in and out. "Dead. He's been dead for a while now, Norway."
Norway winced at the pain in his head so he laid back down. "Oh. How did he die?" Norway asked. "Well, we split up and well... he got eaten." The other country calmly replied. Something hit Norway, a wave of memories. "Why do you hate Russia?" the sick country asked. "Before all this, he threatened me often. Always wanted to kill me, well so do I. That prick of a country... I'm gonna kill him if it's the last thing I do.." Finland said clenching his fists. Norway just simply smiled."Why is there no light?" "The power was turned off. We're waiting for Sweden and Denmark to come back." Finland said playing with his fingers. They sat in silence for a while before Norway drifted off to sleep. Finland was joining him until there was a knock. Finland stood up and went to open the door to see Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia all holding flashlights. "Hi babe, I'm still waiting on that apology for pushing me and ignoring me." Estonia said while barging in past Finland. The other two stepped in and the taller country closed the door after them. Finland sighed. "Look, I'm sorry okay? I just have past problems with Russia and I was drunk. Forgive me?" Finland begged. Estonia reluctantly hugged her boyfriend and went to sit down on the couch. "It's been a while since the lights turned off." Lithuania spoke up. "Sweden and Denmark went to check it out, I'm sure there's just some sort of malfunction." Finland shrugged. Latvia scoffed,"Or some sort of accident. Something has definitely happened." "Why don't you shut your little gobby mouth huh? Nothings wrong" the blue and white country snapped back. Latvia whispered something to Lithuania. "We are going to go check it out, bye Finland." Lithuania said walking off with Latvia. Finland stood there like an idiot, he was slightly annoyed but also embarrassed. He just ignored it and closed the door. Right after that, he snuggled with Estonia.
"Okay guys, follow me I'll hold the flashlight you have the weapon.Got it?" Hungary asked Poland and Germany. They both agreed. It was cold and Poland was shivering in the dark. Germany noticed."Here,Polen, take my jacket." Germany said handing Polen his jacket. Poland smiled and put it on. Hungary felt her heart shattering. She had enough of this. "Poland," Hungary said stopping abruptly," I need to ask you something, privately. Okay?"
Poland was surprised, but agreed anyways. "Germany, just wait out here or something," the small country said opening a random hotel room whilst also handing him the flashlight and Poland's gun. They both stepped in, nothing else could be heard apart from their shoes hitting the floor. Hungary went up to the window and pulled away the curtains. Moonlight shone inside. Everything was silent now. The small country turned around to face Poland. Poland stood there awkwardly, sweating at what was going to happen next. "Poland, szerelmem, I have something important to tell you.." Hungary took a deep breath in. "I love you. I always have, I love you so much. I'd do anything for you, I'd protect you from any country. Anything. Please understand..." she cried. Poland approached her and hugged her tight. Hungary could smell Germany's cologne coming off his jacket on Poland.
"Węgry...I love you too, but as a sister."
She said with sorrow. Hungary felt something stuck in her throat, her stomach started to ache terribly. "Oh.. I understand." She choked out. Poland hugged her tight. "Come on now, we have to find out what happened." "I think I'll stay here for a bit, I'll be fine finding you two." Hungary smiled weakly. "Okay, please be careful." Poland said hugging her one last time before leaving and shutting the door behind her. Hungary burst into tears. She looked at the moon behind her. She cried and wailed as loud as she could. She couldn't live with the thought knowing that Poland didn't love her back. She lived for Poland, Poland was her life. Hungary picked up a pen and paper that she found laying around. The pen was old and barely worked but she made it work. The country wrote her apology:
Dear Poland,
I am sorry for leaving you, I cannot live with the thought that you do not like me back. It's very selfish of me. But you are everything I've ever wanted. I love you. I love you so much. I want to crawl into your skin and live inside you forever. I want you all mine. However, one other has taken my job. I'd assume so anyways. I love you Poland. Goodbye.
Yours could have been,
Hungary
Hungary placed the piece of paper on the small round table in the kitchen of the room.
She thought about all the time she spent with Poland. Maybe it was a big mistake asking so early, but Hungary was very desperate to be with Poland and she would not wait. She'd rather die than not be with her. Hungary opened the wide window, looked up at the glistening moon one last time and muttered,"Szeretlek,Lengyelország" -I love you, Poland-
Before climbing out and jumping to her death, she looked at the dead city below her and the clear night sky up above. She hit the pavement hard and instantly died with no more pain to bear from this world.
