Hey guys, im a new writer, blah blah blah. I honestly don't normally write this kind of stuff, but i had a dream. So.....thats probably why its shit if it is :) And its not really a full chapter, im working on it. THANKS FOR READING, GIVE ME FEEDBACK :D

None of us could ever anticipate what happened. Even the Crazy Ladies wouldn't have imagined something quite as terrible as this.

It all started with the largest scientific breakthrough in nearly a hundred years- the first successfully cloned human. Sure, other humans had been cloned before, but they all had three arms, or no head, or something. The University of Burwind was the first to create a fully formed human, that acted like a normal human being. It was made to physically be 20, even though it acted like a baby, but Frederick was a fast learner. The enitre world would flock to our city in Melbourne to see Fredrick making a simple speech, everyone loved him. No one expected anything to go wrong, and yet, within 3 days, something was.

It started with Frederick being tired and depressed. Our scientists said it was because of all the publicity he had been attracting for being 'different'-no human wants to be different. Then, his (plastic) hair would stand up on end and his teeth fell out. Our scientists said it was simply a matter of his body wearing down, so they gave him more hormonal supplements. Frederick had mood swings, and seemed to want to kiss every girl he met. The scientists laughed this off and blamed it on his fluctuating hormone levels. But, by the fifth day, he was entirely out of his mind. He ran off (he was much faster and stronger than expected) and we never saw him again.

The next day at school, no one could shut up about it. Burwind, the place we called home, was being trash talked by everyone. We had lost our claim to fame and were being punished for it.

'Did you hear? Did you hear?' My friend 'Ping' asked.

'No, i've been living under a rock.' I replied. I was pretty pissed about the whole thing.

'Even the part about me leaving for a month to find him?'

'WHAT?!' i couldn't believe my ears.

'Er, well, i'll tell you about it later.' she said, and ran off.

I went to find Nolan, surely he would know what was going on.

'Hey, Mole.'

'Hey, Freak.'

You could say that these were our pet names. 'Mole' for Nolan and 'Freak' for Farica. Sure, we were completely in love, but that wasn't to say that half the time we drove each other crazy, in the literal meaning.

'What's up with Ping leaving? Why?'

'She didn't tell you? Ping, Brenna and I are going for a month...to find Frederick.'

'Fuck.'

'Yeah, my parents are making me. You could come along if you like...?'

That was the WORST idea i had ever heard from Nolan, and once he dared me to dye my hair orange with purple highlights. I quote, 'It'll look good on you.' But then again, coming along was the only way I could keep an eye on him, and I didnt want to go without him for a whole month. I'm sure the only reason Nola, Ping and Brenna would go is because of their parents' collective obsession with Science. My parents weren't around anymore, so I didnt have the same pressure.

I replied, 'Yeah, because you know that's the sort of thing I LOVE to do. When are you leaving?'

'Tomorrow.'

That was the last time I saw Nolan as the boy I had liked for a year. The next time I was to meet him, he was going to be just like Frederick.
