Chapter 2: Falling From Heaven

As the morning sun wakes me, my mind gets a mind of its own, traveling me back into time and forcing me to think about last night. Did that really just happen? Are we really engaged? I set off in my car, driving down mainstreet, heading to the store. I was looking to see if anyone messaged me while sitting at a red light. As soon as I drive off, a car coming from my side smashes into mine going 100 miles per hour, flying me up in the air 1000 feet and throwing me out the windshield. As I was landing in a small, nearby, body of water, my car exploded.

Jer's POV:

"Where in the hell is Bailey?" He demanded, as everyone sat down in the living room, "please calm down Jeremiah," Allan states, "do you know where she is?" No one responds, "she's mine not yours so please tell me, if you know anything." He whines out in frustration. "She's going to be gone for a couple of weeks, we can't tell you why though. Bailey insisted we didn't tell you, she wants to tell you when she gets better and is able to come home." Sarah explains, tapping his sweaty and trembling hands. "No, no, no, no. She got into an accident. Didn't she?" He proclaims. "This is all my fault, all mine, I was probably the person who texted her. NO" he shoves his red face into the palms of an angry, and emotional fiancé. "We just got engaged last night too-" he squeals aloud. "What?" Everyone says out of confusion. "Yeah i proposed last night,"

"Good for you two," Jordan says.

I feel this sensation of realization, that anything could happen to Bailey, and that I need to spend every waking moment countable and memorable. Making every second count. I walked along the beach side, where she almost drowned. My heart just aching to hear her breath, to see her chase the wild animals and waves, to hear her laugh, to see her smile, to feel her, and to have her right next to me. This blonde girl comes running up next to me as i take a seat in the sand, "hey there, may i take a seat next to you?" She says, she is flattering, her voice is flattering, making me tremble, 'knock it off jer, you have a fiancé' but at the same time thinking it, i power off my phone, "sure darling," she blushes at how stern and how serious my voice is. "I couldn't help myself not try and talk to you, how's Bailey doing?" She asked, how did she know? "Um not too good, in the hospital, have no clue why." I say starting in the sand, she touches my thigh, moving closer into my face, "I have an idea what will cheer you up." She says, leaning in, going in for a kiss, don't get me wrong I had the sensation of wanting to, but deep down I knew I would soon regret it, I didn't want that guilt trip to bite me in the ass. "Nah I really, really can't, I have a fiancé. You know that." I pushed her away, standing up, brushing the sand that was on my ass. I started to walk away, but she grabbed my thigh, "she doesn't need to know," she says innocently, I got a heat wave of the tension, and just started running away, far from her back to the car, and heading in the direction i never imagined myself taking.

Back To Bailey's POV:

I hope into Jers car, "wanna explain what the fuck happened Bailey?" He growled at me.

"I got into an accident, went flying out my windshield and landed in the body of water next to me, while my car went flying, exploding right after me."

"I'm glad you're okay, Bailey, I'm very glad," he grabs my thigh, it's been almost 2 weeks since the last time I saw him. This safe feeling I get when I'm with him, it thrills me that I feel it once again. "I do have something to tell you, um well, yesterday i was walking along the beach, and I-I um met this blonde girl." I cut him off, hearing those words just makes me want to throw up, making my heart sink down my body. "Please tell me you two didn't do anything, please tell me it's not what i think it is,"

"It is in some short," I thought he loved me, how could he, how could he do this, do this while i was in the hospital trying to live, "what the fuck jer." I snapped at him. "No, no it's not what you think it is bailey." He pleaded, "it's everything I couldn't think of, let me out of this fucking car Jeremiah." I hollered at him. I wiggle the door handle trying to get it open. "Bailey can I at least finish what the fuck i was about to say. Before you cut me off, and just assumed shit." He slammed his hand on the wheel a couple of times out of frustration. "Fine."
