"and then— sero!! are you even paying attention to what i'm saying?" mina sighed, blowing on her nails for a few seconds. "whats on your phone that could possibly be more interesting than my story?" she leaned over which only made sero lean backwards.

he laughed. "sorry sorry. i was texting someone. you've got my full attention now." he turned his phone off and slid it into his pocket.

"who? new boyfriend? fuck buddy? oh my god! tell me everything!" she gripped his shoulders and shook him a few times. "ah shit my nails." she mumbled under her breath before grabbing her nail polish bottle. gossip sessions with sero were always fun, but even more so when it was about his love life.

"i wish. it's just todoroki, he wanted to know when he could stop by and drop off some manga i let him borrow." he fell back onto the bed. "speaking of him. do you happen to know his type? or does he even like guys? every time i try to get something out of him he somehow redirects the question!"

ashido laughed and shook her head. "i don't know much either. i do know he likes dudes though." hanta's phone buzzed in his pocket. "go back to your dorm, and tell him to stop by. convince him to tell you what you want to know. what's the worst that can happen, right?" she gestured towards the door with her lips. "you've gotta tell me everything that happens though, 'kay?"

"you're really convincing, yknow?" he responded to shotō's message and stood up. "i'll text you as soon as he leaves— unless he spends the night." he winked at her with a laugh before heading out the door.

in most scenarios, sero was happy to be dormed right next to shotō, but now he needed to make it up a flight of stairs and into his room before he got there. instead of running up the stairs, he used his quirk to swing himself up. it turned out much quicker, maybe he'd use it more often. he wasn't able to get there before todoroki, but at least he got there a few seconds earlier.

"'roki! sorry i didn't mean to take that long." he walked into his dorm, wordlessly inviting shotō in. "did you like it? it's one of my favourites but i know this type of manga isn't really your-"

"i loved it." shotō cut him off. he found the manga's place on his shelf before sitting beside sero on his bed. "i don't usually like that genre, but this one wasn't bad."

"glad you liked it, i was worried you'd hate it." he smiled. "actually while you're here... i'm curious about a few things." his eyes stayed glued on todoroki's for a few seconds before moving slightly closer to him. "do you like anyone— i mean do you want to date anyone?"

shotō's eyes searched in his for a moment, like he was the one asking the question. "i'm very busy with hero work... i don't think i have time for a relationship." but of course that wasn't the question being asked.

"you're already a pro at redirecting questions." hanta teased. "but if you don't want to answer that, the least you could do is tell me your type."

shotō nodded, it seemed he could do that. "taller than me, dark hair, funny... cute." he leaned forward unintentionally, his gaze falling on the other's lips. he was getting distracted. "but overall, someone who's a good person."

"you're such a cliché." sero chuckled, leaning closer mid-laugh. "the mysterious pretty boy who lets no one get close to him." he reached up, his hand gently cupping shotō's jaw. "do i fit your type enough to be let in?"

"you're the definition of my type." sero tilted his head and pressed his lips against his. todoroki moved into the kiss. he moved his left hand, his fingertips grazing against hanta's arm. sero smiled against his lips and pulled him closer. "hanta..." he mumbled his name under his breath as he pulled away.

"god my name sounds like gold when you say it." he moved his hand from shotō's jaw to the top of his head. he ran his fingers through his hair, admiring the different colours. "sorry for the sudden move on you. i should've asked you first, are you okay?" he pulled completely off of him, scooting away.

"i'm fine." todoroki grabbed his hand, interlocking their fingers. "actually... i'd like to do it again if that's fine with you." he paused, blinking a few times. "no- sorry. i didn't mean it like that."

"you did." he laughed, that sweet laugh that could make anyone fall head over heels for him. he placed two brief kisses to his lips. "you totally meant it like that, and i'm glad you did."

he nodded. "hanta if you don't kiss me right now-" sero cut his words off with a kiss. todoroki followed the others lead. it was delicate and warm, even slightly romantic. hanta's tongue swiped over his bottom lip before pulling away.

"i wasn't too interested in finding out what would happen if i didn't kiss you." sero fell back onto the bed, tugging shotō down with him. "i've heard so many girls talk about getting with you, but not one of them has said that you're a gentle kisser. what's up with that?"

there was a few moments of silence. todoroki closed his eyes, slowly shaking his head. "maybe it's because none of them have actually kissed me? besides, i was just copying what you were doing." he gave a small smile. "you're the only person i've enjoyed kissing, if you were wondering."

"everyone thinks you're a player, do you realise that?" he chuckled. "in reality you barely know how to kiss." he laughed a bit louder, quieting when he realised he was being stared at. "was that rude?"

"you were being honest. i admire that part of you." he scoffed quietly at himself. "i meant that i think honesty is an admirable trait." for a second it sounded like they were in a relationship, he didn't mean for it to sound that way.

sero gasped in an overdramatic manner. "todoroki shotō! did you just admit that you're madly in love with me?"

"that's not exactly what i said... would that be called reading between the lines?" his brows slightly furrowed. it took him a moment, but he realised what he had said. before he had the chance to correct himself, sero burst into laughter.

"you— pfft— do you— ha—  you really mean that?" he wiped the tears from his eyes, using it as an excuse to hide the slowly forming blush. "i mean, you're joking, right?"

at this point, shotō figured it would be better to get straight to the point. "it wasn't a joke." he paused for a second, waiting for any reaction sero might give. "and the manga you recommended was terrible, but i liked it because you're the one who recommended it to me... because i like you."

"you didn't like the manga?" he smiled at shotō's blank expression. "normally i'd be upset... but i guess i like you enough that i can just look over it." he sat up and looked over at him. there was one thing those girls got right, his eyes had a sort of warmth when you looked deep inside them.

todoroki gave him a half smile. "i guess this is where i offer to take you on a date. i know a good café that's right outside of musutafu." he sat up as well, now their eyes were level. he looked at sero with a certain level of desperation that would be impossible for anyone to say no to.

"and i guess it'd be kinda rude to say no to yuuei's pretty boy." he shot a wink at shotō as he watched him stand. "you got somewhere to be?"

"yeah, actually." he skimmed through hanta's manga collection as he spoke. "movie night at yaoyorozu's," he picked up the next volume of the manga that sero had recommended. "you should come. they all like you."

"guess i can, i've got nothing else to do." he puckered his lips slightly, expressing his interest in the manga he picked up. "i won't be upset if you don't wanna read it. i have others you'll like better."

shotō shook his head. "you like talking about it, if i read it all then i'll have a better understanding of what you're talking about." he grabbed sero's hand and pulled him up from the bed. "and maybe if i read more i'll get more interested in it... the guy she's with now just isn't suited for her."

sero smiled. "i totally agree! it gets so much better, you've just gotta read more!" he kissed todoroki's cheek. "i'm glad my life isn't like hers. i'm with a guy that's perfect for me."

he nodded hesitantly. he looked down at their intertwined fingers. this was nice, it was something he wouldn't mind doing more often. "yeah... me too."
