Ranboo sighed as he watched the sun come up. He would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous to start working, especially with Wilbur. The Wilburger Ranvan was officially open for business today, and he didn't know quite what to expect. He made the journey to the burger van, the sun waking up with the rest of the server. When he got to the van he put on a hair net. He also put on an apron, tying the strings behind his back, and prepared for a busy day.
As the clock hit noon Ranboo still hadn't had a single customer. He was both relieved and worried. A lack of customers meant that he didn't have a lot on his shoulders all at once, but it also meant business wasn't doing great. Wilbur surely wouldn't be happy about that. Especially since no customers here meant they were all probably at the Tubburger. Ranboo was so lost in thought that he didn't notice the figure approaching.
"Hey Bossman!" someone greeted, snapping Ranboo from his thoughts. Ranboo snapped his head up and was met with Tubbo, who was the last person he was expecting, especially during lunch rush.
"Oh, hey Tubbo. How are you?" Ranboo asked.
"I'm doing good. There hasn't been any business at the Tubburger, so I'm on my lunch break. I thought you'd taken all the customers," Tubbo explained.
"Oh, I thought you had all the customers," Ranboo admitted.
"Does this make me your first customer?" Tubbo questioned with a raised brow.
"It does. What would you like?" Ranboo asked.
"Just a regular burger and some chips," Tubbo answered.
"Hate to break it to you, but we don't have chips," Ranboo revealed.
"You run a burger van and don't even have chips? What kind of establishment are you running here Ranboo?" Tubbo jokingly criticized.
"I guess it didn't come to mind when we were working out some of the finer details. Wilbur was more focused on annoying Quackity," Ranboo mentioned nervously.
"Relax bossman, I'm just giving you a hard time. I can do without the chips," Tubbo told him.
Ranboo's anxiety eased and he shot Tubbo a smile before getting to work on his burger. He put it on the grill and sprinkled some seasoning over it. As it sizzled he turned his back on it for a moment to get a bun out. He then reached for the parchment paper and set it out in preparation. The half enderman's attention returned to the burger just in time for him to flip it.
"Hey Ranboo, what's that seasoning you put on it?" Tubbo asked.
"I don't think I'm allowed to tell you," Ranboo responded with a chuckle.
"Pleeeeeeeeease Ranboo," Tubbo begged.
"Maybe when I'm off the clock," Ranboo said.
"Yay!" Tubbo exclaimed.
Ranboo took the cooked meat off the grill with his on-brand spatula and put it on the bun. He expertly wrapped the burger and handed it to his platonic husband.
"That'll be 4 iron," Ranboo says as he hands off the food.
"Only iron? That's pretty cheap," Tubbo noted as he handed over his payment.
"How much are you charging for it?" Ranboo questioned.
"3 diamonds a burger," Tubbo admitted.
"That's kinda high don't you think?" Ranboo asked.
Tubbo sat down at a nearby table and started to eat the burger Ranboo made him. Since there probably wasn't gonna be any other customers Ranboo thought it was safe to take a break as well. He turned off the grill and took off the apron, hanging it on a hook.He put out the lunch break sign and exited the van, joining Tubbo at the table.
