Chapter 10

Sheela fed Prasad to Janaki after returning from temple. It's been 3 months since the injury. Doctor said Janaki was recovering well. After 1 month in the hospital they brought her  home. Sujatha would take care of her while Sheela went to work.

The only problem was the cost of medicines. Rajesh salary went completely in Janaki’s Hospital bills. Household was running mostly by her salary money. Rajesh was not happy about the matter. But she reminded him again that they were partners in the relationship and will be sharing everything. In few months Janaki will recover completely and their financial issues can be solved then.

It was Saturday but Rajesh was working that day. At dinner Sujatha asked,

“ why were you working today? You were always at home on Saturdays. Trying to have distance with your wife ha?”

Sheela's eyes widened.

“No I had some extra work today,” he replied not taking her bait her a fight.

Sheela adjusted the blanket on the bed and asked Rajesh who was busy on his laptop.

“What happened? You are not your usual self today.”

“What? I should always chat with you?” Rajesh replied without lifting his head.

Sheela narrowed her eyes and went and stood near him.

“Husband what happened?”

Rajesh sighed and kept his laptop aside and held and hand to make her sit beside him.

“I have to go to Bangalore for a 15 days. There seemed to be some problem in that branch and my boss is sending me to handle that.”

“Oh.” She was surprised.

“Its 15 days. Your husband will be back before you know it,” Rajesh tried to lighten the mood.

Sheela sighed, “ok. When are you leaving?”

“Monday morning.”

“What about living facilities, what will you eat, how are you going there?”

“Don’t worry everything will be taken care by the office.”

“Ok."

Monday came and Rajesh left for Bangalore. Sheela packed some snacks for him to eat and went to send him off to railway station along with Jagdeesh.

“how is your roommate anna?” Sheela asked to Jagdeesh after Rajesh’s train left.

“I am trying to adjust to his lifestyle Sheela,” Jagdeesh replied annoyed remembering his roommate.

“What do you mean anna?”

“Daily he does something new and his list of rules for the room are increasing like anything. Leave about me. How is your life with our Rajesh?” Jagdeesh wriggled his eyebrows at her.

Sheela laughed, “it’s great anna.”

“That’s what I thought. Rajesh takes care of everyone. Did he tell you about his uncle and aunt?”

“Not in detail. But I get the point. They are not his big fan.”

“Yes. They did not treat Sujatha and him properly.”

“Hmm,” Rajesh did not share much about them to Sheela. So she did not know much about them. They never visited them nor did they invite Sheela and Rajesh to their house. It was like they have vanished from their lives after their marriage. Sheela and Jagdeesh parted their ways After saying goodbyes.

Rajesh called her as soon as he reached Bangalore. He was staying in the hotel near to the company.

Its been two days since Rajesh left and Sheela felt different staying in the house without him. She did not even realize when he became a habit in her life. She missed him so much.
