Day Three: Mission One

A quiet morning felt off-putting to the young contract killer. Slouching up with a *pop of her neck and a stretch of her arms, slowly arching her back, *yawn. Rubbing her face the sleepy young adult get up from her bed, got suited up in her gear, and headed out the door. An alarm sounds off as soon as she left her room, everyone stands with hands behind their backs against their room doors. Cali is shellshocked by the blaring sirens overhead, Boss walks down the hall with Mother and Salem in tow.

Rex shouts: "Attention!"

Everyone hand salutes, Cali follows their lead putting her hand to her forehead.

Salem: "At ease."

Boss walks down the hall eyeing everyone while holding her helmet with her arm. Her eyes narrowed looking at every little movement and twitch they make.

Boss announces: "Today is number seventeen's first mission! I want a squad who will show her what it takes to be in 17A! Step up when I call your number!"

The sirens fall silent as the crew ease their arms to their sides and wait for The Boss to call them.

Boss: "Numbers, eight and nine!"

Ash and Ashley step up, and Mother directs them down the hall.

Boss: "Eleven and fifteen!"

Jane and Anthony are next to step up, Jane's energetic mood has disappeared, and her face lacked emotion as she turned to Mother and was given orders. Anthony kept that worried look, gulping hard catching Cali's eye as he looked back at her.

Boss: "And Five, all who have not been called get the day off! Dismissed!"

Boss points at Cali and makes a 'come here' motion with her finger. Cali gulps, and with all her might she stands before The Boss; she glares at Cali.

Boss angry: "Follow me."

Mother and Salem are right behind her with Cali falling behind as they move forward to the grand hall. Everyone that was picked for the mission is lined up ready to go, weapons in hand and helmets strapped on. The Boss stops, holding a device in her hand, she pushes a button opening up the floor. Anthony jogs to Cali handing her a pistol and combat knife, his eyes shift from side to side.

Anthony whispers: "Prepare yourself."

He jogs back to his spot before nodding back at her, Cali nods back at him. Mother stands behind Cali holding a smile with dark intent behind it, Boss speaks while planes, carriers, helicopters, cars, and tanks pop up from the floor.

Boss vigorously while walking back and forth: "Today is the rookie's day to prove herself, we are there to make sure it goes smooth! So no one and I repeat! No one! Will interfere with her task, and if she fails, well, she will be executed on the spot!"

The words hit Cali like a ton of bricks, she looks behind her back staring at Mother. Mother looks back at her putting her hands on both shoulders.

Mother: "Ready?"

Cali keeps eye contact: "Yes."

Boss: "Number five, ready the carrier and a car of your choosing! We are going to be in a city mind you. Everyone else, board the carrier immediately, now go!"

They all rush with guns and equipment in hand, loading into the carrier, Salem speaks to Boss while Mother talks to Cali.

Mother with a cheery attitude: "So, ready for your first mission!"
