Dominic POV
- Italy Five years later -
"I'm telling you" Mike dodges a punch "There wasn't even a female instructor in my gym."
He responds sincerely. Michael had joined our group just a few months ago but we had become very close. It was like we were childhood friend
"But now there is." says Zane leaning against the ring lost in thought. "You should go there now."
"Don't even think about saying what you're going to say." Mike turns to Zane giving me the opportunity to send him to the ground. Making Zane laugh
"You know me and Mami is just platonic." he says making Mike grit his teeth.
"This is getting weirder and weirder." Vicenzo enters the gym complaining.
His security guards closed the door, remaining outside.
Me and the guys exchange a look.
My brother tosses his coat onto one of the benches before grabbing some gloves and stepping into the ring.
"This is going to be interesting." Zane says low tone
"Do you want to talk?" I ask ironically making the others laugh. But my brother didn't notice the irony.
"The father spoke to the Gardanos again. With the Gardanos."
It's my turn to laugh.
"Dad better not come up with the wedding scene again. I swear I can't anymore." He comments finishing squeezing his gloves.
"Where did I hear this before?" says Zane disappearing to the other ring
"He won't make you marry the Gardano's daughter." I say when we position ourselves.
"How do you know?" He asks, dodging my attack.
"Because we have kids together."I roll my eyes before throwing him to the mat.
He seemed to ponder my words. He looked more relieved.
Zane and Mike trained in the other ring next to us.
For a moment it was just the sound of our movements echoing through space.
"Have you spoken to her? With Leila I mean." Vicenzo asks, when he accepts my hand to help him up.
"She won't talk to me even if I pay her and we both know how that woman loves money." I sigh, reaching out to lift him off the mat again.
"She's a heartless gold digger. That's what she is. I can't believe she managed to leave the girls behind."
I laughed without humor, he wasn't saying anything new.
"Where did Dante and Lorenzo go?" Michael asks
"How do you know they're not home?" my brother asks, repositioning himself.
"If they were, they would have come with you, Vicenzo. " it's Zane who answers while I dodge my brother hook.
"Dad took them on a last-minute trip." I throw him on the mat again.
"And you stayed?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"He left me to take care of Giovanna." I stretched out a hand for support, but met my gaze with the boys.
"What did you do?" I asked, while handing him a bottle of water.
"I did nothing." he says jumping out of the ring.
"He was fine until your meeting last night." he says walking up to one of the treadmills.
