Read all of this before being disappointed!
You may or may not remember the poll where I let you decide which version of the character you liked more, but to be honest, I was secretly hoping that the original design would win. I really preferred that one. For one thing, the eyes looked better. The sockets were just the right size and the pupils were centered so well, whereas the redesign's eyes were, in my opinion, too big. Plus, I liked the idea of darkness with nothing visible except teeth more than seeing a skull and jaw.
The other reason was because the bones being visible messed with what I wanted to do with the character. I wanted a shadowy figure to be able to appear and pop out of the character's mouth, hence the name Exovant, exo meaning outside, and vant coming from the word Vanta black. As a matter of fact, the eyes and teeth actually belong to the shadowy figure. The first design of the character will be used for Exovant from now on.
So what's going to happen to the redesign? Well, I've decided that the redesign will be a different entity, and it will be called Sonic.ROM, which was Exovant's original name. I haven't quite fleshed him out, let's be honest, I haven't even fully fleshed out Exovant yet. However, much like with Exovant, I have Sonic.ROM's basic ideas in mind.
This decision also means something else for this book. There will be more Sonic.exe-based characters coming soon. I started drawing the next one earlier. Hope you're excited for that.
