Jiyeon happily skipped down to the table she and the girls usually sat at in the canteen. Sunghoon and Soomin already sat there along with Millie and Jake.
"The fifth wheel has arrived~" Jiyeon happily cooed at them, making most of them let out small laughs at her.
"What did you do to Sunoo and Lin?" Millie questioned as she poked her straw into her juice and took a sip, "you got rid of them and that's why you're so giddy."
"No... or well... partially," Jiyeon shrugged as she sat down and momentarily pointed at Millie, "but Sunoo waited for her outside our classroom, so he probably finally got the guts to ask her to be his girlfriend," Jiyeon pointed out proudly.
"Really?" Soomin gasped and Jiyeon nodded as she opened her lunchbox.
"Which means... today will be the last day I'm sat here," she announced, "I ain't doing any fifth- no, seventh wheeling at this table. It's only a question of time before Jake and Millie are official."
"She's right though," Jake shrugged.
"So... any news in loveland?" Soomin questioned and leaned across the table towards Jake and Millie.
"We sort of... stopped dating," Millie shrugged making Soomin widen her eyes before choking on the piece chicken she had just placed in her mouth.
"What she meant is that we aren't going out anymore, and just went straight to being a couple," Jake clarified making Soomin's coughs intensify, until she got control over her breathing once again.
"Dear God, the girl is dying of excitement," Jiyeon frowned at Soomin as she took a sip from Sunghoon's water bottle.
"Sorry. I got shocked," Soomin excused to them, "I didn't expect it to happen this fast."
"Eh, we've known each other for long enough," Millie shrugged as an excuse before smiling up at Jake who already stared fondly at her.
"Ah... I'm so single," Jiyeon let out a soft sigh as she watched the two couples.
"Yeah... we need to find someone for you too," Soomin pointed out making Jiyeon immediately shake her head.
"I'm not good with being lovey dovey," she denied them.
"May I sit here?" a voice spoke up behind Jiyeon, almost as if on cue, making the youngest girl looked back over her shoulder at Jungwon, who stood looking quite embarrassed.
"Uhm... sure," Jiyeon nodded at him, making him immediately sit down beside her and drop down his bag.
"When you speak of the sun," Millie commented in surprise as she looked at Jungwon with raised eyebrows.
"Shut up," Jiyeon glared over at Millie who just winked at her, "flirt with your boyfriend, not me!"
"You're flirting with her?" Jake questioned in despair as he looked down at Millie, "listen girl, I know we just became official, but I won't accept other flirts."
"Friendly flirting. You know I love you," Millie assured Jake, making a smile immediately plaster itself onto his face.
"Once again... I am ridiculously single," Jiyeon pointed out to them making Jungwon let out a small laugh and nod in agreement, "what have you done of Riki, Heeseung and Jay?"
"Riki had something with the other exchange students," Jungwon waved it off, "I don't know where the hyungs are."
"Probably spying on Sunoo and Lin," Sunghoon let out a small laugh at the remark, which seemed awfully true for the two missing upperclassmen.
"Man, I hope they're filming it," Jake pointed out making both boys laugh in agreement.
"Hey... I accidentally got an extra strawberry milk, do you want it?" Jungwon questioned and gestured the small pink bottle towards Jiyeon, looking at her with an expectant look.
"Are you sure?" she questioned as her hand hovered above the bottle and he just nodded, "thank you," she happily cooed before accepting the bottle, and immediately poking the straw into it, taking one sip.
"You know... Lin and Sunoo have been absent for quite some time by now," Soomin commented making them all look towards the entrance of the canteen.
"Probably snogging in some broom closet," Millie commented with a shrug.
"Not Sunoo hyung," Jungwon shook his head in denial, making Millie raise her eyebrows at him, "he's more the hand holding, cuddly type."
"Ah..." she hesitantly nodded at him, "I could've said that myself, but you never know what lurks underneath the innocent facade."
"In Sunoo's case it is just as pure and innocent as it looks," Sunghoon assured as the rest just nodded in agreement, "and I enjoy triggering the small little fiery dwarf in him."
"Oh we should remind you!" Jake exclaimed and almost facepalmed, had his arm not been wrapped around Millie's shoulders, "we're gonna go on a trip to the southern beaches in the first week of the summer break, as a goodbye trip to Riki. You should come."
"Heeseung is renting it out again?" Millie questioned in disbelief and Jake just nodded, "it's as much of my beach house as its Heeseung's. I'll be going."
"Isn't it your parents'?" Jiyeon frowned at Millie, who only nodded and pointed at her as if to confirm that claim.
"Yeah I probably have time too," Soomin nodded in agreement making all eyes fall back on Jiyeon.
"What?" she questioned quietly looking around at the other faces, slowly realizing what was being asked off of her, "ah no no no. I'll be going with three couples and four reckless boys? Ain't no way," Jiyeon shook her head.
"No, no," Soomin shook her head, "it'll be fun! It's instead of the trip to Nami island. I swear!"
"I'll ask mom," Jiyeon excused with a shrug and sipped from the strawberry milk once again.
"Next time, I'm not gonna buy you a strawberry milk. I didn't think you'd abandon food for it," Jungwon frowned at Jiyeon, making her eyes widen at him.
"You bought it on purpose?" she questioned in disbelief, making his ears immediately turn a bright red and he scratched the back of his neck.
"No, no, no. That's not what I meant... I just... no?" he replied fumbling around with his hands and looking around himself.
"Ah... okay," she slowly nodded at him.
"Geez, she can detect Lin and Sunoo's crushes on each other, within a few weeks, but can't see something as clear as that," Millie complained making Jiyeon arch a brow, "forget it."
"Give it the month out," Soomin softly patted Millie's back.
"How much are we betting?" Millie turned her head to Soomin who let out a sigh.
"No more betting, please... you always win," Soomin commented with closed eyes, making a small smile spread on Millie's face.
"Then we'll have to wait for more than this month," Millie spoke and Soomin just nodded in defeat.
"I'm afraid you're right."
