Syleria stared blankly into the crystal clear water, the stars perfectly reflected along the still surface making her feel as if she were sailing through the sky, rather then on the ocean. The gentle almost non existent lapping of the water against the hull of her ship pulled her into her thoughts as she stood, arms crossed, one black boot perched atop the lowest railing. "Your brother is alive, he's here" the words echoed in her head. What had that woman meant? Leaith was alive? Impossible! She'd watched him drown over two hundred years ago.. before being whisked away to the Fae realm. She remembered much of what had happened there before being spat out in Spiritmoor lake nearly 20 years past. It had been his own fault! Why he died, his own damn fault. Stupid boy! Learie gritted her teeth and clenched her fingers. How dare that girl bring up ghosts... how dare she give her that tiny hope. Her raven black hair streamed back behind her, with one purple streak through it.
Suddenly she felt a cool hand run across her cheek, turning around she smiled a bit, "You, my love, seem very pensive about something" he murmured as he gently stroked her cheek. The tall male seemed cloaked in shadow Trindle's of it seemed to roll off him, piercing silver blue eyes peered into hers and she relaxed slightly "someone tried to contact me... trying to lure me into some kind of trap I'm sure" she said dismissively waving a hand but he frowned.  "how do you know? Who was it?" She shrugged and turned back towards the water "it doesn't matter who it was they tried to use my brother to get to me! They can rot in hell! Who plays with someone's emotions like that!?" She squeezed her eyes shut as once again cool hands found her, caressing her arms. "Whoever it was... maybe they really know something? Maybe he IS alive" he murmured into her ear, she sighed softly and leaned back into him, feeling his night chilled body against hers, chilled from the fly over she imagined as his wings also folded a bit around her shielding her from the icy north wind. They looked not unlike a dragons wing, though smaller and more attuned to his lean body. "Nonsense! I watched him drown..." she said and hung her head squeezing her eyes shut against the well of emotions rising in her, the guilt, the worry, the grief, the anxiety.. and more guilt at never having gone home to see her mother. "I'm sorry.." he murmured into her hair as he leaned his forehead against the top of her head. "Anyway... how was the ball" a fussy event she had opted out of, using the excuse of this supply trade run as an excuse to not wear a dress and have to fraternize with nobles.
The High Lord of the Night court shrugged his broad shoulders his wings flexing with the movement "Eventful.. Talon showed up" Syleria wrinkled her nose and turned in his arms to look up at him "Gross... did you kick his ass?"
"I didn't have to, it seems the Heir of Spring can be very persuasive and escorted his uncle out" he chuckled a bit and pulled her in close "if you ever want to send a message back to her I'd happily oblige" she nodded and stared out into the water again "Thank you... maybe after this next run I'll think about it.."
Together they stood in silence, High Lord Magnus Starbane, and his High Lady, who preferred the term 'Captain Learie Starbane' as the ship glided gently through the waves the chilly wind nipping at their cheeks.
Starlight twinkled above them and the moon rose high into the sky shedding its light down upon the Nocturnal Gazer as it headed out to open sea.
