I take it back, I'm not ready for this fucking meeting.
When I walked into the conference room the clicking of mine and Mia's heels attracted the attention of the married couple.
You'll never guess who it was. Sophie and Blaze Knight.
I was ready to spin on my heel and walk out of there. Mia however had other plans, she shoved me further into the room.
I grumble under my breath keeping my posture straight and a professional attitude.
Their faces morph into shock as they stare at me. "Violet?" They both say in unison.
Brilliant. Just what I need right now.
"In the flesh" I send a polite smile, I gesture with my hand for them to take a seat.
They do the complete opposite and rush towards me pulling me into their arms.
"Oof" I breath out feeling myself getting squished "okay guys please let go I can't breath".
They pull away looking over my features "I can't believe it's really you" Sophia breaths out.
"We really missed you Violet" blaze smiles.
I step away from them feeling myself get overwhelmed.
" I missed you guys too. I'm sorry to cut this short but is it okay if we start. I have somewhere to be after this" I smile politely.
They frown but nod, taking their seats around the long table.
I open my laptop in front of me as I get comfortable in my seat.
"Sorry but we're just waiting for someone to join us. Their always later" Blaze gives me a uneasy glance.
I nod "we'll why don't we go over what you told me over the phone? Then you can proceed to tell me who this house is for".
They nod, they start telling me as it'll be a big family home. What they wanted inside of it, they said they wanted to make sure that their was a huge library inside. They then told me that the house is for one of their sons.
I didn't think much of it as they have 3 sons. We continued for 20 more minutes.
We're interrupted by the door opening followed by loud footsteps.
"Son. Your late" Blaze sends a stern look at his son.
"I know dad. I was busy" the one voice I have been wanting to forget announces.
My heart rate picks up as I turn towards him. There he stands, the man who ripped my heart out and stamped on it.
There stands the man who lied about loving me. The man who took away my happiness.
There stands Greyson Knight.
I curl my hands into fists feeling my finger nails digging into my palms.
Mia's head snaps to mine, worry lacing her features. She's waiting for me to snap, I see it in her eyes.
"Sit down Greyson" Sophie groans.
Grey takes large steps and sits in his seat. His eyes roam around the room before landing on me.
His lips part in shock as he stares at me. Sadness and pain flashes through his eyes.
I keep my face emotionless as I turn back to my laptop.
"So your wanting a library on the second floor, a contrast between white and nudes?" I nod towards them.
Grey pipes up "yeah. I want it to be spacious and have area to sit".
I just stare at hun blankly as his tongue pokes at the side of his cheek.
"Very well. The rest of the house your wanting a contrast of also White and nudes. May I ask why?" I cock my head to the side sending him a curious glance.
He shrugs his shoulders "It reminds me of someone" he mumbles, staring at me intently.
My breathing hitches in my throat when he says that. I dig my fingers deeper into my palms feeling the blood seep out of my skin.
I turn my attention back to the screen and continue talking about the designs.
I keep my gaze strictly fixed on the screen or on Blaze and Sophia.
I don't dare look in his direction, knowing he still has the same effect on me as he did 2 years ago.

I grab my bag and laptop standing from my seat. I turn to them "Right, Thankyou for coming in today. The designs are finished and I'll just need to address to this house so I can see it for myself".
"We'll send you the details over. Thank you for this Violet" Blaze says smiling.
I let out a shaky breath "no problem. Me and my team will sort out a schedule and we'll let you know" I nod.
"We hope to see you soon Violet" Sophia says coming towards me for a hug.
I reluctantly hug her back before pulling away and walking out the room.
"Violet wait!" Mia shouts as she grips my hand.
I spin to look at her as the tears are unleashed out of my eyes.
I shake my head "I can't do this right now" I mumble as my lip begins to wriggle.
"oh V" Mia pulls me into her. I break down in her arms, feeling my whole world collapse around me for the second time around.
"Why is he back" I pull away.
"What is he back to rip my heart out a second time. To tell me how he used me. To tell me how I never meant anything to him?" Sobs erupt vigorously out of my throat.
"Violet please calm down" Mia chants over and over again whilst helping me calm down my breathing.
I finally get my breathing under control. My tears finally stop the only evidence of me crying is my wet face and the red splotches under my eyes.
"I hate seeing you like this V" she tucks a piece of hair behind my ear.
I take a deep breath "I know. It's just hard seeing him again" I sigh.
"Listen to me. I think you need closure. So maybe, it's best if you talk to him. I know it's hard right now, it'll probably always will be hard. Just think about it. It it's not now, or in 2 weeks. Just think about it, this might just be what you need" Mia smiles sadly stroking my knuckles.
I bite my lip hard, before nodding "Okay. Just not now. I can't deal with more pain" I whisper out.
"Okay V. Take your time" she kisses my cheek as we hug.
