"What are you doing here Barry?" I groan as my beta stares back with a mischievous grin.

"What? I can't come check in on what my pretty alpha has been doing recently without me?" He asks while smirking at the three angry males standing next to me.

"You don't have to check up on me"

"Last time I checked, that's what my job as your beta is supposed to do"

"Your job is to carry out directions that I tell you to do. And not once have I ever asked you to check up on me"

"My father was by your fathers side every second of his life as his beta. Is it such a big problem for me to do  that with my alpha?"

"It wouldn't be such a big problem if you were half as good of a beta as your father was"

"Your love for me is really showing with your words"

"Why did you come here? And how the hell did you even know where I was?"

"I'm your beta. As your beta, I always know where my alpha is"

"Besides annoying the shit out of me, what's the reason of you being here?"

"Other then the fact that I love being beside you, I actually wanted to see how you guys little man hunt has been going. But by looking at your hostages, Im guessing you guys are getting close to the suspect, am I right?"

The two vampires hissed at Barry for trying to touch them. Barry being his annoying self decided to laugh at them before walking up to me with his normal sly grin.

"I'm not that bad to keep around. You know Ill always cherish my alpha, in every single way" He whispers into my ear while sliding his hand down my back before moving away when Jax let out a loud growl.

"Possessive much? Anyways! Ill be on my way now since Im not appreciated around here anyway" Barry announces with a dramatic sigh as Jax rolls his eyes.

"As much as pretty boy here is annoying the fuck out of me, we actually have to go too. The sun is starting to set and I do not wanna be hunted down by any more of your people" Scarlett sighs while walking up to me to shove Barry aside.

"See you later cutie" She huffs out with a pout before grabbing my face to pull me into a long kiss.

"Just as delicious as your other pair of lips" She whispers into my ear after pulling away from our kiss before walking away as her sister rolls her eyes.

"If you guys need any more help with the case you can call me anytime. But for now I need to go home to watch over her and so I won't be locked out of my own home" Ava says handing me a piece of paper with her phone number on it before following Scarlett out of the warehouse.

"It's getting late, did you want me to drive you home while Jax continues his little anger montage?" Barry asks whole standing at the warehouse doorway with his keys.

"We need to figure out who these guys boss is and what he's planning to do on our island. If you wanna go back to the pack house, then you can go" I reply as he looks back at the two vampires struggling to try to get out of the ropes they were tied up in.

"Fine! I'll stay but only because it's my job to protect you. Judging by how these assholes are glaring you guys down, I'm gonna need to stay here just in case the anger issues tormentor over there isn't strong enough to protect you" Barry sighs dramatically before grabbing a random large box to sit on it with a huff.

"Just tell us who your boss is. By the damage on your brother, do you really wanna continue being tormented?" Cole always being his mediator self asks the twin vampire that tried to attack me earlier.
