(Hermione)
xxx
Hermione could count on her fingers the number of times Draco would let Florence out of his sight.
Excluding work, and the brief overnight trips he insisted on taking her on, Draco would stay dutifully at his daughter's side - more often than not, holding her in his lap or tucked under his arm.
He was a doting father to his sons, but Florence had him wrapped around her little finger form the second she was born.
It only got worse after that.
She knew today was going to be hard from him. Draco was certainly going to cry, and she half-expected Draco to physically pull Florence back through the platform entrance and not let her get on the train. She'd had a talk the night before on how to deal with Draco to her oldest daughter, pleading with the near-teenager to go easy on her father.
"Alright Flora, are you all packed?" Leo had come into his sister's room, and immediately going over to her trunk. The nickname 'Flora' had been reserved for only a few people in her life, mostly her Family, her Nana and James Potter. No one else could call her that and had to use her full name.
Hermione knew she would be dealing with a drama queen teenager in a few years, and just asked everyone to comply with it so she wouldn't get lip once they got home.
Florence jumped from her bed, nearly nocking her mother over in the process as Hermione folded the blanket at the end of her daughters bed. "Leo no snatching my candy"
Leo smirked, pulling a salt water taffy from the bottom of his sister's trunk, "I wasn't allowed to go school shopping with you and Dad so my stash is out."
Hermione scoffed, knowing nothing was going to ruin Draco's day with Florence yesterday. That, and Leo didn't need school stuff anymore. Not even the begging from his other children to go with him to the shops and out for Ice Cream.
"Leo" Hermione snipped watching her sons eyes widen realizing his mother was in the room, "Put the candy back in her trunk, you don't get to go school shopping because you no longer go to school."
Leo wordlessly complied, putting the stolen sweets back into the trunk and hopping on the bed beside his sister.
"You ready for the train Flora?" Leo asked excitedly.
Hermione someone wondered how she had lucked out with her children. Leo was the ever perfect child, even through the additions and changes their family had undergone over the years. He always adapted well - with a few bumps on the road, nobody was perfect - and he thought highly of all his siblings.
"I think so, Scorp said it gets bumpy like the rides a fair" Florence looked a little appalled, wanting to correct the antics of Scorpius but waited for the response she knew leo would give her. Florence had thrown up on those rides a few Summer's ago when her brother's were home, sh'ed forgone them ever since.
"Nah Scorp's takin the piss out of you - "
"Langauge" Hermione snapped, interrupting him and making a face.
"Whatever, Scorp's being nasty. It's not bumpy at all"
"Pinky promise?"
"Pinky promise"
Hermione watched the exchange between her children, their finger's clasping together. Florence and Leo had always had a very sweet bond. He was eight when she was born, and old enough to understand what having a baby sister meant. Scorp was still a little too little, and just though that Florence was keeping him from snuggles with his father and Hermione.
