A/N: I am taking heavy liberties with lore I don't know too much about. Please take this as very very loose Interpretations of various mythologies. I'm honestly making shit up as I go along.

Bakugo POV

I couldn't bring myself to move. I've never dreaded facing a moment more than this. Eijirou gripped my shoulder.

"She....she said she had this. She wouldn't lie."

You're wrong...she would if it was easier to do so.

And It's way easier to say you can handle a problem that you couldn't than to ask someone to let you die.

I hoped it wasn't her screaming but hearing them tell jokes about how her corpse looked confirmed my suspicion. We waited until it was silent. And then waited a bit more. Eventually, Eijirou touched my shoulder, his hand shaking. A weight settled itself in my chest as I finally made the decision to open the door. It felt like a nightmare. I kept walking, despite everything screaming at me not to. A million thoughts were running through my head, making everything hazy. When I came back to reality, I was cradling her head in my arms. She died with a wrinkle in her brow. Bruises and contusions littered her body. I looked at the bloodstained living room. Every observation hurt more than the last.

She never deflated the air mattress.

She let us keep our key copies and made sure we could always come back.

She went out of her way to help us and there's no way this would've happened if she didn't.

Phyne was right about everything.

I wish she killed us.

Tears pricked my eyes as I took a shuddering breath. I didn't even know how to go about fixing this.

"Bakugo..."

Despite everything, despite seeing that her lips never moved, I sincerely hoped she called my name.

"Bakugo."

That came from behind me. I turned around, reeling back while cradling her in my arms. It was Y/N but I could see the hallway behind her. Her voice echoed through the room like a haunting whisper. She pointed at the corpse in my arms. Eijirou stood wide-eyed at the spirit, his hand wiping away his tears.

"Bakugo...get away from the body."

I gently set the corpse down and stood back. The body started to twitch as she headed over. She knelt down beside it and faced us.

"I need you to go to my bedroom and cover your ears please." She said.

We went back into the room, more confused than ever but followed instructions. After a few moments, she came into the room with two hard ciders in hand. More blood seeped from her mouth that wasn't there before. Her body, while the injuries were there, seemed to be way less broken than before.

"So an explanation is probably in order."

"Please." I said in a very tired voice.

She motioned for us to follow her. We sat on the couch, there was an open cider waiting for her on the table.

"So to get the obvious question out of the way." She sighed, wringing her hands together. "Uhhh how am I alive right now?

She looked at the drink and took a swig before answering.

"This building, for whatever reason, changes its residents. The longer you're here the more you change. Like Mr. Prentice wasn't a werewolf type thing before he moved in. For me, not sure if it was the bad coping skills but I found out that I could literally detach myself from my body after a while."
