Secrets, Excuses, Lies.
The three things that practically make up the life of Naomi Hale.
The girl has always avoided the truth, in order to stop anyone from getting hurt, and protect the people she loved.
They never suspected a thing. They never knew of the things she kept from them, or of the lies that spat out straight through her teeth, one after another.
It was more rather the truth that would make them begin to think she was liar. If she ever told them, they would continue to believe the lies and deny the truth, because her truth was almost impossible for the human mind to comprehend.
Ironically, there is nothing in this world that Naomi hates more thanlying.
She felt guilty every time a lie slipped from her mouth, slowly ripping everyone's trust to shreds without them even realizing. But it was a consistent cycle.
If she was being honest, it wasn't only for the reasons of safety, she was also scared that they would hate her. That they would never look at her the same, or worse... they would fear her.
Because of this, she's always felt alone. Even with Melanie and her friends, no one knew the real Naomi... and they never would.
With the secrets that lie beyond the surface, it was questionable whether or not the girl would ever find a family to love her, or at least make her feel whole again.
Naomi Hale is a good person. She has a pure heart and there's no denying that, but no matter how nice she is or how much she smiles, somewhere deep down... she's always felt like a monster.
So, she could never give her loved ones the straight truth... all because she was born a Hale.
But because of this, no one truly knew her, there wasn't even one person that could ever understand her.
