Stepping off the plane made me realize how true this situation was. Looking at the time I realized it was 2:30 am. "You think dads awake" Antwayne asked me. "Nah, I'm gonna order us a uber" I said as I did just that.

After about twenty some minutes the uber driver arrived to the airport and we were now on our way to my dad's house. Looking out the window I seen people making their way around town.

We eventually made it, and Twayne paid the driver a tip. I had no other choice but to call my dad since we couldn't get in without him.

It took five rings for him to answer "Hello" He answered the phone sounding both sleepy and confused "Hey it's me dad, we're currently outside" I said and I heard shuffling before the gate opened up.

I got my suitcase and book bag and me and Antwayne headed inside as my dad hung up the phone and opened the door.

"I thought you guy's would be arriving later my apologies" My dad said "Welp we're here now" Antwayne said causing my dad to side eye him

"Anyway's let me take you both to your rooms" My dad said. We walked up the stairs, after about what felt like 300 stairs we finally made it to the floor that our rooms were on.

My dad took Antwayne to his room first then took me to mine. I opened the door to my room and it was very much big, with my own personal bathroom and walk in closet

"Now i'm going to tell you just like I told your brother, in this house nothing is free everybody has a job and by friday i'm expecting the same from you" He said and I nodded

"Now I know you're probably sleepy so get to bed" He said as he walked out the room, I immediately went to putting my clothes and stuff up because I knew if I didn't do it now I wouldn't do it at all.

After about 2 hours I had finished putting majority of my things up. The time read 4:50 am right now so I knew it wasn't too late in Atlanta.

Taking my phone out I called Jessi waiting for about five rings before she answered. "I thought you'd be sleep by now girl, ain't it like three sum out there?" She said coming into view I seen she was laying down with a bright light hitting her face meaning she was probably watching something on her computer before I called.

"I just got through unpacking my stuff and it's almost 5 for your information" I said sitting down on my bed. My bed was a king size bed I realized that when I first walked in. My room was very large, and it made me feel weird.

Not because I didn't like it but because I wasn't used to this. I wasn't used to the grand life and for a moment it made me hate my dad. Up until now he wasn't in me or Antwayne's life much. He sent gifts on special occasions but that was pretty much it.

After he got with the white woman of his dreams, he had no reason to have time for his black family anymore.

As I got older, I realized he did all he could do. He had to run a company and look after his other two kids. He couldn't come all the way to America to come see us. While it hurt my love for him was noless.
