That son of a bitch left me almost instantly after we got to the party. I can't blame him though, well shit now I have to interact with people. Looking around the room and making eye contact with Dr. Banner, he smiles and walks over to me.

"Oh, Dr. Evans, you finally made it. It's such a pleasure to finally meet you. Tony has told me so much about you." Banner beamed, reaching out his hand. I firmly shook his hand back, smiling probably a little too much.

"Dr. Banner, I am such a fan of your work I've been wanting to start studying Nuclear physics more. I really am not studying it as much as I would like. Oh, and you can call me Marcy." I responded gleefully. You know maybe I did need this, social interaction is nice.

"Well Marcy, you can call me Bruce, and I would love to work with you on a project sometime," Bruce continued. "Let me introduce you to the team." He started walking towards the bar me following in pursuit. At the bar was one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen. Her fiery red hair was framed around her face perfectly and her dress framed all of her curves perfectly. I subconsciously look down at my dress judging my choice of fashion, I wish I looked that good.

"This is Natasha, Natasha this is our guest of honor, Doctor Marcy Evans." Bruce introduced us by gesturing towards me. As I go to shake her hand a blue blur rushes past me and I see someone sit in the chair next to me.

"Why, hello there. My name is Pietro. What's your Princessza." The silver-haired man smirked next to me. I turned to face him, I scanned him up and down his toned body and his chiseled face, damn, but what struck me the most was his bright blue eyes. They were so enchanting, I felt as though I could get lost in them forever. Stop Marcy, did you hear what he said he seems cocky as hell.

"Hi, I'm Marcy. How did you do that by the way... Wait a second, you're that really fast guy Tony told me about." I realized.

"Wait, you're the guest of honor. You don't look like a scientist." He exclaimed back.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I snapped back, crossing my arms. Bruce and Natasha sensing the tension between the two decided to butt into the conversion.

"I'm sure he didn't mean to be rude, right Pietro?" Natasha clarified, nudging Pietro with her shoulder.

"Of course not, I've just never seen a scientist as beautiful as you. You could be a model is all I'm saying." He shrugged. Beautiful, he called me beautiful. I feel a warm sensation crawl up my cheeks, I quickly turn away hoping he didn't see. I looked up slightly to see that his smirk got bigger, if that was even possible. Before he could say anything Tony stumbled over putting his arm around my shoulder.

"Marcy there you are, damn, did I tell you already that you look hot in that dress." Tony slurred. I remove his arm from my shoulder and turn towards him placing my hands on my hips angrily.

"Anthony Edwards Stark, I told you I needed you by my side during all this shit and you fucking leave me. You're too drunk to even function right now, how much have you had to drink?" I accused shoving my finger into his chest.

"That doesn't matter right now, I need you to come with me. I have a surprise for you." He exclaimed, dragging me away. I turned towards the other three and mouthed 'Help me'. Before they could do anything Tony is slowly climbing onto the table trying his hardest not the fall.

"Can I get everybody's attention please," Tony shouted. "We are here to celebrate my very good friend Doctor Marcy Evans." He grabs my hand and pulls me up on the table with him.

"Marcy here is one of the smartest people I have ever met and..." His voice starts to fade out as the sound of my heart beating faster and faster becomes deafening. My throat started to tighten as my breathing became restricted, my hands started to shake, and then it happened.

"And she is becoming the newest member of the avengers. Everybody give a toast to Marcy." Tony exclaimed. My head snapped to the side staring at him in disbelief, as the news started to sink in my cheeks slowly became wet. Tony looks over at me and his expression instantly changes to one of regret. I quickly jump off the table and run off to god knows where.

As I sit in the hallway, tears rapidly falling down as I struggle to breathe. I feel a body sit down.

"Save it Tony, I don't want to talk to you." I whimper not looking up.

"Well, good thing I'm not Tony." said the deep accented voice next to me. I look up shocked to see Pietro. He didn't say anything as he put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer. I leaned in, putting my head on his shoulder. I don't even know this man but something about this felt so peaceful. Why is he being so nice to me though? When my breathing calmed and my crying slowed he pulled me away slightly and looked me in the eyes.

"Are you feeling better?" He asked, I nodded. "Good, do you want to talk about it?" He sounded so sincere and calm, and I could tell that he wasn't going to pressure me into telling him anything.

"I really don't like having everyone staring at me like that. And why did he just drop that news on me like that. I didn't know that he wanted me to be an Avenger. He just pisses me off so much when he does stuff like this... Wait, why didn't he follow me" I stopped my ranting.

"Because I told him not to. Wanda knew that it would make you more upset if he did." He explained. I gave him a confused look, Wanda? "My twin sister." Oh.

"I just want to go home but I don't have a car." I said looking at him with pleading eyes. After I told him where I lived he picked me up bridal style saying 'hold on'. Next thing I know I'm at my front door and being placed to my feet. I thanked him and walked into my apartment. Walking into the house I slide down my front door. What the fuck just happened.
