please, i want so badly for the good things to happenHOPE LOOKED HERSELF in the mirror, smiling at her appearance. For so long, she finally feels like herself. For the first time in forever, it finally feels like she knows who she as a person. She is finally (slowly but surely) moving on from her parents deaths, from her and uncles death, from the trauma that was caused by the Salvatore School. And now, she is also finding her own sense of style that didn't include school uniforms.
She stood in a black v-neck crop top, brown vintage high-waisted boyfriend jeans, and her white converses that Lydia had drawn hearts on. Her hair was pulled back in two french braids, and her makeup was simple.
She picked up her school bag and made her way out of the room, her blue eyes instantly landing on Scott across the hall who was sitting on his bed, looking depressed.
She frowned and moved into his room, sitting down next to him. "What's wrong?"
"Mom's out of money," Scott muttered, "I can hear her downstairs talking on the phone with the power company. She couldn't afford the bills this month."
Hope bit down on her bottom, looking at her black painted nails that was already lightly chipped. An overwhelming sense of guilt settled in the pit of her stomach. She felt like it was her fault that they didn't have enough money; this had been one of her concerns since the moment Melissa allowed her in the house.
Detecting her guilt, Scott placed his hand down on her knee, making her look up at him. "It's not your fault," he promised, "mom loves you. You're her daughter, my sister, and she would slap you if she knows you're blaming yourself for this."
She chuckled lightly and nodded. "Okay, okay." She sighed and laid back on the bed. "Why does everything always have to go wrong when things are finally getting good?"
He shrugged and laid down beside her. "I don't know. But, we'll get through it. We always do. Together."
She turned her head and smiled at him. "Together."
SCOTT DECIDED TO STAY behind for a little while longer, so, Stiles came to pick her up. And when he did, she was informed that they weren't going to school. Apparently, they would be going to the police station to visit Deputy Parrish who — surprisingly enough —was on the supernatural hit list, and so this was their chance to warn him.
She hadn't even gotten in the jeep, he had told her that information as he leaned halfway out of his window. And as she went around the jeep to the passenger door, he leaned towards it, opening the door for her.
