Part 2"Yesterday shit got heated."
Giovanni shook his head, "An' all I wanted to say was Happy Birthday."
Kai rolled his eyes, "I'd rather keep you an' Deena away from Sydney."
"What for? You actin' like I'm dangerous or sum'."
"Naw you just tried to frame her dad for some shit an' then played friendly wit' her which was fake as hell. She don't need you 'round sayin' anything 'bout her dad."
Giovanni chuckled, "Or do you not want me tellin' her stuff 'bout you?"
"Ain't nothin' to tell."
"So she knows you got a temper."
Kai shrugged, "She saw it last night. An' I promised her I wouldn't get like that again." He nodded to Brandon. "Which is why he here."
Giovanni looked to his immediate left where Brandon was prepared to beat on him if needed. "So she know 'bout you hittin' Tanji?"
Brandon stepped closer to him when he heard Tanji's name which is what Kai told him to listen out for. He balled up his fists ready to swing if he went further.
"Oh when I pushed her in defense 'cuz she was hittin' me after I broke up wit' her? Nah I ain't tell her dat yet but I know she'll understand."
"You think she gon' understand the concussion-"
Brandon punched him in his nose, making him fall back in the chair he was sitting in. Blood instantly came from his nose before he hit the ground, hitting his head. Brandon stepped back as Kai walked up on Giovanni and crouched down to his level. Giovanni's eyes moved around aimlessly as if he were trying to see.
"Looks like you gettin' one to match. Speak 'bout that shit again wit'out the full story an' I promise you, it'll be the last shit you ever say."
Brandon handed him a wash cloth which he threw at Giovanni.
"I'll call Deena for you so y'all can clean up this blood off the white carpet before it sets. It's the least I can do."
Kai stood up and went over to the house phone in his mother's living room. After making the quick two second call without giving Deena specifics, he hung up and nodded to Brandon for them to leave.
"Happy Birthday Gio."
"Girl what type'a questions is these?" Antwan asked Sydney chuckling. "You analyzin' a nigga?"
Sydney sighed, "Ant be serious."
He laughed, "I am!"
"No I'm not analyzing you. I told you I need this information for a paper I'm doing. It's evidence to support my claim."
"Which is? You gotta explain this shit to me 'fore I pour my heart out an' shit."
"I would like to work with inner city children as a social worker in a school. I think that negative experiences children have will impact their adulthood experiences. Whether it's relationships, their outlook on their life, and their children if they choose to have any."
