Half an hour later, Lan Sizhui emerged from a temporary tent right outside Chi forest. The two Sect leaders had been gone for such long time that the disciples had started worrying, and now they had decided to go look for their leaders. They formed groups of three, and set off in different directions in Chi forest.

Sizhui's group consisted of Jin Ling, who'd been brought to the hunt by his uncle, and Lan Jingyi. The three teenagers walked in a close group through the tress are the forest grew thicker.

"I can't believe we are on a search hunt for two adult and specially apt in cultivation Sect Leaders." Jin Ling complained after a while.

"Well, Princess Jin, no one's forcing you to do it. You can go back to the tent if you don't wish to." Jingyi snapped.

"When did I say I didn't want to?" Jin Ling thundered.

"Why, just now you were complaining about-"

"Young master Jin Ling, Jingyi, cut it off, please." Sizhui intervened. "We have more pressing matters at hand."

Both of them huffed, but didn't say anything, much to Sizhui's relief. They continued there journey, and Sizhui began calling out to the two Sect Leaders.

"Sect Leader Jiang! Sect Leader Lan!" He shouted.

Jin Ling and Jingyi soon followed suit. An hour later, the three had ventured so deep into the forest that the sun no longer shone through the trees, and they were surrounded by an ending darkness. Still, there was no sign of the Sect Leaders.

Exhausted and thirsty, the three decided to rest for a moment. They found a tree that had fallen over, and sat down on it, keeping their swords nearby, just in case. It was just as Jin Ling was about to complain when they heard them. Two male voices.

"Why? Do you dislike it when I say things like that?"

There was some silence, then, "Do you like it, then?"

"Just get back to normal once, and I'll have Zidian tell you if I like it or not." A second voice said harshly.

"That means you like it!" The first voice said.

"A-Huan, please. We need to get back to our disciples, or they're going to be really worried." The second voice replied.

The three juniors froze when they heard that, all of them thinking the exact same thing.

Huan is Sect Leader Lan's birth name! Then the other voice must be...

"Can we stay here please, A-Cheng?"

The two Lans sitting on the tree whipped towards Jin Ling, who was red in the face already, recognising his uncle's birth name.

There was some silence, then Sizhui decided that he had to stop this somehow. They were eavesdropping on a private moment of two Sect Leaders.

And so, he called out. "Sect Leader Jiang? Sect Leader Lan?"

There was silence, then some cursing.

Sect Leader Jiang appeared from behind a thick rose bush, his face as red as tomato. When he saw them sitting on the tree, he turned even redder.

"What are you three doing here?! Didn't we tell you no to enter the forest?!" He boomed.

Before the Lans could say anything, Jin Ling snapped, "Well, a certain someone was taking too long from what they claimed was a night hunt, so we naturally got worried and decided to look for you two, not expecting-"

Sizhui did the rudest thing he ever had in his whole life. He clamped a hand over Jin Ling's mouth to keep it shut.

"We-We're sorry, Sect Leader Jiang. It's just that none of us was really sure what sort of creatures live in the Chi forest. We grew anxious. We should have waited a bit more. I apologise on the behalf of all of us."

Jin Ling glared at Sizhui, who faltered and removed his hand. Before he could say anything, however, Sect Leader Lan stumbled out from behind the same rose bush, and clung on tightly to Sect Leader Jiang.

"A-Cheng, why did you disappear? Do you not love me anymore?" He said.

The three juniors turned red immediately, and Jingyi cleared his throat loudly. This brought Sect Leader Lan's attention to them

"Oh, when did you get here?" He said, still hugging the man in purple robes.

"Alright, enough!" Sect Leader Jiang's Zidian sparkled before coming into it's whip form, then wrapping itself around the man in white robes and holding him away, much to the latter's displeasure.

"A-Cheng, how can you do that to me?" He sounded really hurt.

Sect Leader Jiang, red in the face from anger and embarrassment, whipped towards the juniors.

"Not a word of this to anyone if you wish to live a long life. Gather all other disciples and tell them everything is fine. We'll stay in our tents for tonight since it's late already, and leave tomorrow."

It was three months later that Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen giggled over this incident in a private room. Of course, they'd initially been worried about the juniors knowing their secret, but it had turned out surprisingly normal.

Jin Ling had very awkwardly announced to Jiang Cheng that the former was happy for the latter, and didn't care about the latter's sexuality. Jiang Cheng held back his tears that evening.

Sizhui had been much more comforting to Lan Xichen than anyone else, telling him that he still respected both the Sect Leaders just as he had earlier. Xichen had never before felt this proud of a disciple.

Jingyi was another story on the whole. He barged into Lan Xichen's office messy and tumbling, to announce that he didn't care who Lan Xichen wanted to fuck, as long as he would do it well. Xichen could only smile, thinking that it was impossible that the kid Wei Wuxian took in had been Sizhui, and not Jingyi.

But they were happy. Everyone they personally cared about approved of their relationship. Wei Wuxian, Lan Zhan, Jin Ling, Sizhui, Jingyi and even Lan Qiren (however reluctantly).

They loved each other.

They wouldn't leave each other.

And they knew that.
