"The job for you doc is to infiltrate them,"
"We've been friends for years I can't just betray them like that,"
"Do you want your sibling to die? Doc? Do you want your precious sibling to die?"
"Fine fine! I'll do it but i'm not going to enjoy it,"
Jade stared in shock. It was Goblin and Azvameth. In a stolen police car. With huge machine guns. What the hell? Jade realized the police were after those two and not his trio, with any luck they could make it out without getting sent to prison a second time. It was shitty, letting these two take the blow while his trio made it out unscathed but he swore to put their safety above all others even if it meant throwing those who were exceptionally kind to them under the bus.
He was snapped from his thoughts when he was pulled into the car alongside Ace and Raven. I guess that spoils his plan then? He looked at the two in the drivers seat wondering how they managed to shoot guns, pull them inside and drive, until a familiar face popped from in between the two adults. Sunny.
Jade mentally screamed. He did not want to deal with the optimistic and naive Sunny. Especially when Sunny has stickers on hand, to which Sunny did. Sunny immediately stuck golden star stickers on the three in the back seat. Ace and Raven smiled and Jade just felt like screaming.
"Hello Hello friends! I was just broken from the prison for a special mission for you three!" Sunny spoke with their normal cheery tone that had an undertone of something mischievous.
"Hi Sunny, what's this mission for us?" Raven replied to the happy childish person. Sunny just stared a moment before getting another sticker sheet and beginning to cover the three in stickers.
Jade sighed before quickly realizing he was more worried about stickers than the fact they were in an active police chase and getting shot at. The more he thought about it the more he realized this was his new normal and he was already used to the constant state of fear. It was sickening in a way. The fact that over the course of a few months his entire life was thrown in a blender, beat to a pulp, stomped on, and then spat on.
As the sun grew higher in the sky the sounds of police sirens died out in the distance. The two in the front seats finally went inside the car to the sounds of a sleeping trio and Sunny giggling on the floor of the backseat. Raven and Ace we're leaning there head on Jade who was in the middle seat, the three of them asleep. The adults drove in silence. Their next stop, an old pirate ship hidden in a cove. It doesn't put off a signal that can be tracked so as long as they used a uncommon path they could get easy sailing to an empty island to end the chase once and for all. They could finally live in peace, they could finally have a chance to calm down and grow up.
The night was only just beginning when they arrived at the cove littered with caves. This cove was privately owned by the Mantle family all of which are deceased. Goblin couldn't help but think back to the many times Jade had accidentally called him a Mantle. He had lost his memories all those years ago when most of his face was permanently marked with the scars of fire. He had survived many fires after that even the fires that wrecked the once safe haven.
Goblin parked the car stepping out into the cold and dark yet fresh air. The air was salty as the slight breeze blew inland causing vapor from the ocean to reach the land. To put it faintly the air just smelt of fish and water. Azvameth stayed behind to wake up the trio and get them over to the small old dock that Goblin was pulling there surprise to.
The surprise was a perfectly preserved pirate ship, perfect to keep them under radar of other ships as they at least attempted to travel to an empty yet useable island. They needed to escape the city and make it out of the eyes of the public. So the so called "terrorists" of Westville can just disappear into nowhere at last, and the three war criminals can disappear too. Yes, Goblin did in-fact have a very long list of war crimes he's committed, including an attempt at assassinating the president, multiple accounts of arson, a few missiles here and there, kidnappings, manslaughter, and that time he killed accidentally ran over the mayor of a town though the mayor was a dog. That was the only one he regretted. Rest In Peace Mr.Barks.
