I get woken up early in the morning by a constant tap on the window. I thought it was a bird at first but turns out it was something else, or I guess someone else. I open up the curtains and see a certain Blondie outside the window, you could also say she's My blondie...
I open up the window slightly, not letting her climb inside yet.
"Rika? What are you doing here so early?" Without thinking she lets herself in and removes her shoes at the end of my bed. She hides her face from me even when I physically try and get her to look at me.
"Rika you cant come in through my window clearly upset and expect me not to worry..." She finally obeys and turns around towards me and it looks like she's been crying almost all night. Her dull expression, her red and tear-stained eyes. It makes my heartache. I have never seen her like this before. I sit her down on my bed and let her get comfortable. She hasn't even changed out of yesterday's clothes yet. I grab her a pair of shorts and a t-shirt and hand them to her. She's too exhausted to get up so she changes right then and there while I turn away and do something else for a minute. Once she's done I sit back down on my bed and lay her head on my lap.
"What's been going on?" I stroke her hair as she thinks about what to say.
"My mom." I could barely hear what she said due to her low whisper but I got it. In a weird way, I anticipated that answer. She never talks about her and even when she does she dismisses it right away.
"When I got into middle school, she promised I could meet my dad. But she lied. Days turned into weeks and those weeks turned into months, simply waiting for an answer. I asked again last night and she turned the question down with a slap on the arm and told me to let it go or I'll never get the chance to meet him. I think that's what pissed me off the most. Hell, I don't even know if that man is alive or not."
That was the most she could say without turning her head to cover her tears. I keep stroking her hair because it seems to calm her down. Once she was a little less tense I broke the silence.
"If anything like that ever happens again you do whatever you need to do to reach me, ok?" She nods her head. We were both protective of each other but if one comes to the other in tears, the other is ready to kill istfg.
"I'm not letting anyone hurt you, you're my Rika and I can't let anything happen to you." She chuckles a little bit, but she believed me. She tucks a piece of hair behind my ear that had fallen in front of my face. A faint blush covers both of our faces. It was painfully obvious how much we cared for one another. It's only been a couple of days yet we spend almost every waking moment with each other. Life just feels right when I'm with her.
After a while of her laying with me, she sits up.
"Are you busy today?" Her voice is still a little chipped from emotions getting the better of her.
"No, but even if I was I still would make time for you." She smiles at my cheesy statement and gets up off my bed. She throws her dirty close into the bag she brought with her and puts it by the door so she won't forget it. My brother knocks on the door and I yell for him to come in.
"hey Y/n breakfast is- Oh hey Rika, I didn't hear you come in" She shrugged and went through my door to go get breakfast, my brother and I slowly followed after. The table was mostly silent other than my brother getting to know Rika a little better. Common questions like "How's school?" and "what's been going on?" etc.
I think Rika and y/b/n get along very well, even if Rika was only sharing 15%. We finish eating breakfast and do our usual morning routine. I thought it would be a little easier on Rika if we stayed at my place today, just to give her a break from life I guess. I get out of the shower and dry my hair with a towel, placing it on the bathroom door hook. Rika's laying down in my bed, not asleep, just resting a little bit. I close the blinds so the heat isn't rushing onto Rika's back and turn on the AC since it's about 89F here. Rika gets up and grabs my laptop from my desk and lays back down next to me. I hate seeing her so low energy and closed off so I'll try and make her feel at least a little bit better.
She turns on the laptop and turns on *Insert show/movie/anime idfk*. I can finally feel her relaxing against my touch. I'm laying on my back with my arms crossed on my stomach and Rika has one leg on top of mine and has her arms holding onto my waist. I might be dying of heat but at least she's content. We watch a couple of episodes so far and Rika's curled up onto me even more. Her slow pace breathing, her arms wrapped around me tightly, I can even hear her heartbeat. Or, maybe that's mine... Rika has always meant so much to me. I want to protect her with my life and I wanna see her happy. Is it weird I always blush around her? She makes me feel something I have never felt before.
I can faintly hear a slight whisper escape her lips
"Thank you.."
"For what?"
"Existing."
She looks up at me, almost falling asleep. My face is practically red at this point. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out two Wonder Eggs.
"Ya wanna?" She asks handing me one.
"But it's only around 9 am.."
"Still, I don't see why we can't"
I nod and close the laptop, putting it at the end of the bed. We both fully lay down with a thin blanket covering both of us. She curls up into my chest and holds me tight. One hand over my waist, the other tucked into her chest with the egg.
"Stay close to me y/n, ok?"
"Ok.."
