Mason's pov***
I have been looking for Mariya Jenkins for six months now! Six long and painful months. I started looking as soon as I was told that I could fly. I flew to Reno. Now here I am. Sitting in front of her mother, who is higher than hell. She can't sit still and is constantly licking her lips. "Look! I don't know where she's at! She ran away from the Hounds months ago. Now the bastards are after me. If they don't find her, I'm dead!"
She stood and was searching for something. She is getting frantic. "Are you sure that you don't have any stuff? I need some crystal. Or rock.....ahha!" She held up her reward. A loaded needle.
I stand and grab the needle with my gloved hand. "Not until you tell me where to find Mariya!" I threaten her.
"Give me my stuff!" She whined.
"You're pathetic! Now where is Mariya?"
"I don't know!" She screeched. "She ran away. They said that they found where she took a bus to one of the Carolinas. I don't remember which one."
I throw the needle in the direction of what I assume was the hallway. "You aren't worthy of her." She ran for the needle as I walk toward the door. I see a couple pictures of a beautiful young girl. "Are these pictures of Mariya?" I show her the pictures. She is already shooting up. She looks up and nods from where she is sitting on a pile of clothes in the floor. I take all of the pictures that I see. I walk out and never look back. I book a flight back to Kentucky.
The last letter we got was a day before all hell was unleashed. She told us of her mom getting worse with the meth. She thought that something was up with her. She was talking to someone and being very secretive. She said that it was her birthday and she turned seventeen.
Now I know that her mother had sold her to a motorcycle gang. And Mariya had run away from them. I hope like hell that they didn't hurt her. I might go psychotic on them.
Reed is there to pick me up from the airport. I tell him what I know. We decide to go to my favorite steak restaurant for dinner while we are in town. As we pull up to the side of the Ranch House, we see two huge guys stalking a woman. I recognize her as the new waitress. We go to help her out without any discussion. We hear what is happening before they see us.
"Just ask for Mariya Jenkins." I gasp at the same time as Reed. We found her! I can't believe that she was this close all along!
We pick up the soon to be dead bastards. Then we throw them into the bed of Reed's truck. After securing their hands and feet, we cover them with an old tarp. Just to play it safe, I throw the spare tire on their legs. Reed throws my duffle bag on their heads. We drive off. Both of us are quiet and looking for any sign of more from the gang or cops. We leave town and go into the woods. I know exactly where we are going to leave the pricks. The snake pit.
We get them out of the truck and walk to the edge. "You mother fuckers are in so much trouble! When we get back to a phone signal, we'll call the Hounds and they'll be here for you. You will beg us for mercy! We won't give it!" The one who was called dragon, informs us.
I chuckle. "You think that you will be alive to make the call?"
"Now that's funny!" Reed tells him.
"So do y'all want to jump or fall, into the pit?" I ask as I look into the pit. There is at least fifty snakes down there. They aren't too active. I toss a small stick down. The stick is instantly covered.
"We ain't goin nowhere! Except back to get Mariya and Reno. Where she belongs!" The one who hit Mariya said.
"Mariya is mine. She'll never be around you again." I go to cut the tape from their feet. Dragon tried to kick me. I put him on the ground immediately. He is face first on the ground. "Wrong move fucker!" I drag him to the edge of the pit. He gasped when he saw the movement.
