A year passed. Slowly the world had turned into a Dark and depressing Mirror of itself, Sokolova Industries having begun to Openly use Void Powers for it's Gain. The world was hers and she showed it. Crime and economy wise, The world was Perfect. Crime had dropped to a near Zero, with Pierre being much more precise and stealthy with his group's hits and Sokolova having shot down most of the big criminals. People were paid fairly and on time, with roughly NO issues with such. However Pierre had gotten Gutsier with his strikes, destroying entire buildings with civilians in them, Lucy Bombing out entire streets or even blocks, Using Void energies to keep parts of them afloat above a Gray voidish empty place so people never forgot what was there once. Sometimes enough remained for people to get across.
Jason had gone back to his normal life with his daughter, And even dating around a bit. He never met anyone he stuck with but most of them ended well, the most recent being a Pure French woman with short black hair. She worked as a mime and while they were together for a while, They parted ways because they weren't really compatible. Jason only remembered this because many of them would "Mysteriously" Die in Void examples. On their building alone. Lucy Nadia had grown closer to her surrogate father, enough to call him dad sometimes, when she wasn't paying enough attention to call him Jay. She had a birthday, her first christmas with him, and even a Halloween which she loved. He had been the best man he could for her, swearing off taking lives. He had done enough. No More.
At Least until A day He feared arrived. There was a knock on the door, and when he opened it, there stood a man he never wanted to see again. His father. Mark looked at his son, who had the exact same details to him as the last time they met. "Hello Jason." Mark pushed past, stepping inside. "I heard you had a daughter now, I wanted to meet her! I'm proud of you. Adopting a child with a tragic life is a great thing, even if I don't know the exact details of what happened to her. Though it's a little ironic she was already named Lucy huh?"
Jason glared for a second, before putting on a smile for his daughter. He knew She could destroy anything she deemed a threat, he Trained her to understand. But He had also worked hard to instill respect, love, and kindness into her. She wasn't the best kid, but she was a damn good one he was proud of. "Yeah, I've been teaching her how to love again, how to trust. She's a tough girl. Lucy Nadia, first Daughter in Generations."
Mark nodded and sat down beside her "Hi Lucy. My name is Mark, and I'm your Grandpa. I've heard lots about you but with travel restrictions finally Relaxing I can get away with Coming to visit!"
Lucy smiled and shook her grandfather's Hand, the 3 talking for a little while about Lucy's life and hobbies she discovered. After a while Mark dragged Jason Backward to the kitchen gently, shutting the door and pinning him to the wall. His smile faded, Glaring at his son "You think you are allowed to just Vanish for Over a year from us and we wouldn't get curious?! Especially with everything going on with Lucy, And especially the fact that you just casually Adopted the most powerful fucking being in existence?! You know she could rewrite the entire universe if she wanted to, right?"
Jason glared back "Oh yeah, I hadn't noticed. I just took her in cause she's cute. I took her in to protect her from you, Because she's a child that needs to find her way in life, and because she deserves so much better than a Lab for the rest of her days!"
Mark shook His head, Drawing his sword. The second it came out, Jason knew what that meant and already he was in a rage. He summoned his own to him from across the room and punched his father in the torso, Smacking his sword aside. Mark had anticipated the hit on the Torso and blocked it, The two getting into a small duel. After a while, Jason lets himself take a stab to the forearm, Punching his father in the temple. This Knocked him out, Throwing him to the ground. He ran out to his daughter's room and saw she had been Taken. He already knew where to go and wasn't gonna waste time. He got his old gear on, and looked at the mask. He broke the eyes of it, Throwing it on his father's chest. He began walking outside, pulling his hood up.
